2PROJECT MANAGEMENT
1. Introduction
The paper mainly focusses on “Deakin University” that decided to construct a shed on a
piece of property within the University Backyard. The property on which the University
wanted to build the shed have some concrete structures which requires to be removed be
before construction of the shed. Proper planning is made in order to design the shed in a 3D
virtual model by utilizing modelling software so that the real project can be constructed as
per the model.
The report mainly reflects on the analysis that is made in order to identify the project
challenges as well as team members who are mainly involved with the project. Moreover, a
brief project plan for building the shed is developed along with appropriate timeline for the
construction as well as demolition works that are associated with project.
2. Challenges of the project (Operational and Strategic)
After engaging in proper case study analysis, it is identified that number of strategic
as well as operational challenges are generally associated with the project. The challenges are
mainly classified in the table that is provided below:

5. Project management plan
5.1 Project background
The Deakin University wants to construct a new shed on the backyard property of the
University by cleaning the area as the land is not flattened and it mainly consists of number
of irregular structures that needs to be demolished. As before the initiation of the project
demolition of the land is required and thus the project is mainly divided into construction as
well as demolition phase. During demolition, all the structures or irregularities that are
present are demolished from the area by using various demolitions tools and techniques. In
the project construction phase, the foundation will be created and then proper infrastructure
of the shed will be built. The design of the shed will generally follow 3D model which is
mainly developed by the software of 3D modelling.
5.2 Project scope and objectives
