Debenhams is multinational retail company which is providing its services in different
countries. Government policies affect the company's performance as different rules and
regulations of various countries directly affect its business growth. Government helps the
Debenhams to launch its news product in the market but different countries have different rules
which affects the performance of the organisation (Atighechian and et.al., 2016). High tax rates
and custom duty charges forces the organisation to increase the price of the product. In order to
increase their profits the organisation has to increase their prices which directly affects their sale
and revenue.
Rapid change in government attitude and political stability has affected the company's
business operations. They have to face various problems in deciding the price of their products
and their promotion.
Economic:
Economic slowdown in UK has directly affected the business operations of Debenhams
as its business is dependent more on UK economy. They have to analyse the economic condition
of the countries be fore establishing their new stores so that they cannot have to face failure.
Monetary policy and fiscal policy of different countries plays n important role in economic

obsolescence has forced the orgfanisation to pace with it so that they can expand their business.
Legal:
Legal factors plays an important role in affecting business operations. These factors

concentration on empolyee-employer relationships, customer and firms bond and supplier
producer relationships. This has helped the organisation to raise their position in the competitive
