AI Summary
This essay argues that decentralized renewable energy applications are a superior solution for pollution prevention due to their potential to reduce emissions and enhance energy efficiency. It explores the benefits of renewable energy sources like solar, wind, and geothermal, while also acknowledging their limitations, such as the environmental impact of manufacturing materials. The essay concludes that despite these challenges, decentralized renewable energy remains the most effective approach to preventing pollution, especially when combined with efforts to improve energy efficiency and reduce consumption. The document also contains assignment brief from ACWR 106 Fall 2018.

Abstract—Decentralized renewable energy applications for
energy generation and usage can be the ultimate solution for
prevention of pollutions on the planet. Not only the reduction
in the emissions, they will also work for the enhanced efficiency
in energy supply and comfort in usage. As of now they are most
superior alternatives to traditional energy generation options
in emissions prevention context.
Keywords—Decentralized Renewable energy generation,
emissions, pollutions prevention, (key words)
I. INTRODUCTION
Enhanced technological activities and
industrial applications in contemporary timings have contributed to
the increase in pollution and detoriation of the environment in
general on this planet. The ecological degradation is mainly due to
the unjudicial usage of energy sources which are key propellants
and causing a range of health problems to the people. When there
is no control over the causes of pollution and emissions, the global
ecology well being will get worsened and unrecoverable damages
do happen both to the planet and human beings as well. Unjudicial
energy resources usage is one of the major contributors to the
emissions and pollution on the planet. Which is the source for
several consequential damages like global warming, ozone
depletion, acid rains, and increase in the sea water levels, impact
over the flora and fauna and so and so forth? There is increased
attention of the people from all communities over the menace of
pollution and variety of solutions are proposed. Using Renewable
energy is one of the significant options that work to reduce the
pollution on the planet. More significantly decentralization of
renewable energy will work on to reduce the energy consumption
as well, as this eliminates the energy losses in distribution and
transmission procedures, which will also reduce the associated
emissions that do happen at the source of the energy generation.
Hence decentralized renewable energy both offline and online can
be a viable and potential option to reduce the emissions and
pollution on this planet. The following part of the discussion will
emphasizes more this position with variety of evidences to support
the claim. Reasoning and other related discussion is provided there
in the report.
II. RENEWAABLE ENERGY AND ITS POTENTIAL IN
PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT
Renewable energy is the clean and tidy form of
energy. When it is employed optimally it will reduce all the
possible forms of negative impacts on the environment. Renewable
energy is available in variety of forms; however the solar energy is
the origin of all such renewable energies. Solar, wind, tidal, ocean
thermal energies are some of the several forms of renewable
energy which are quite useful for the betterment of the society
ecological conditions. When renewable energy is optimally
employed the possible emissions and pollutants from equivalent
conventional fuel will be mitigated and this will reduce the
ultimate formation of the carbon dioxide, reduces the global
warming as well will also reduce several other related impacts over
the planet [1].
As of now range of renewable energy technologies are
already matured and they are being applied for range of energy
applications in general. For example Hydro power generation is
being employed for a range of power generation options
throughout the world. It is of very less operating costs, quite
environmental friendly, long sustaining and contributor to the
economic growth of the environment and habitants as well. Geo-
Thermal energy is useful in the locations where it is available and
range of applications from Urban heating, power generation,
hydrothermal applications are some of the several range of
applications where geo-thermal energy can be employed for. Solar
energy is being employed for energy generation on large scale
throughout the world, it proved to be zero pollutant, very less
operating costive and the same energy can be employed for
thermal applications for both the domestic as well as for industrial
applications too. Hence the technology has become very popular.
Wind power is employed for variety of applications like power
generation, agricultural applications, water pumping requirements
etc. Tidal wave energy is mainly being employed for power
generation [2 ]

III. OTHER OPTIONS
Well the limitations of the renewable energy
applications and the constraints in using the same for energy
generation make up the most important reasons for search for
further optimal solutions in general. Some of the constraints and
limitations that are emphasizing the move towards other options
are as follows, The material employed for making the equipment
for harnessing the renewable energy is not very eco-friendly. Often
the material employed used for making the solar photovoltaic

panels and related equipment will be toxic and the exploration and
manufacturing of these materials is still harmful, similar
observations seen for some of the structural; manufacturing in
wind energy harnessing [5]. The usage of open loop geothermal
energy and subsequent emissions to the atmosphere are still
causing environmental impacts on the society. Even though these
sources of energy are not totally the best, the evolving technologies
and the procedures are making them more and more environmental
friendly and enabling them to remain ecologically friendly. Also
options like emissions reduction using chemical means, enabling
enforcement by using regulations, working for energy efficiency
and reducing energy reliance are all equally competent, however
when compared for the ultimate objectives of reduction of carbon
foot print and reduction of the pollutions emission to the
surroundings, there is no comparison to the renewable energy
resources usage [6] .
IV. CONCLUSION
Based on evidential information and based on
broad application of energy resources and evaluation of their
emission consequences it can be said, there is renewable energy
technology is the most potent and efficient energy resource for the
ultimate objectives of pollution prevention on the planet [7]. It is
significant to consider other options to reduce the emissions on the
planet, like energy efficiency applications, reducing the energy
consumptions, using alternative forms like chemical means(fuel
cells etc), curbing the pollutions at the source itself using right
technologies, enforcing the regulations by legislations etc.
However prevention is the cure and hence using the renewable
energy technologies is the best solution for preventing the
emissions on the planet. However still the inherent difficulties like
limitations in eliminating the carbon foot print of the materials and
equipment used for making the technology, limitations in the
technology like emissions from open loop geothermal energy
harnessing procedures[8] and related pollutant emissions to the
atmosphere need to be averted and already there are practices there
maturing in this direction. However, still as of no w renewable
energy technologies are promising the possible ultimate reduction
of emissions on the planets and that too when it is decentralized the
inherent convenience and further objectivity is getting improved.
Hence the stand on using decentralized renewable energy for
pollution prevention is justified and rationale is provided for.
