INTRODUCION
Workplace demands today call for an increased flexibility in the ways which individual
employees as well as teams make and implement various decisions. Employees working in
different organizations today, demand for more flexibility in the way that they work. This has led
to the introduction of concept known as work from wherein employees can work from their
respective homes effectively (Engin and Vetschera, 2017). Apart from this, the decision-making
process within companies has also changed significantly over the years. This report is a
reflection based on the decision-making preferences, processes as well as tools that a person uses
on a day to day basis.
MAIN BODY
Decisions Made
The organization that I worked in was dealing with issues relating to the target customers
and how their feedbacks and needs were not being addressed by the existing employees
effectively. The management was worried that the company might not lose its customer base
because that would affect the overall profitability as well as the performance in the market.
Therefore, by analyzing all the possible reasons behind the problem, the manager of our team
took the decision of providing training all team members. He even advised us to keep our
knowledge about the products and services offered by the company updated so that we could
easily address the concerns of customers. I considered this advice to be useful as it could help me
not only in building a strong relation with the customers, but also address their problems in a
much more effective way. This could further be beneficial for the company as it would gain loyal
customers. This was also important because being a current employee within the company I
sometimes found it difficult to understand the concern that a customer was trying to raise.
Sources of data and use of decision-making tools to make decisions
There are various data-driven tools that are used for the process of decision-making like
descriptive analytics, predictive analysis, prescriptive and diagnostic analytics (Grubb, Brown
and Hall, 2018). Descriptive analytics can be defined as interpreting historical data so as to
understand the changes that have taken place in a business. It also helps in making effective
decisions that can further contribute to the overall growth of the company. It is an important

component of performance analysis and allows managers to make sound decisions as well as
measure overall performance. Predictive analytics on the other hand, can be defined as a branch
of advanced analytics which is basically used in order to make predictions about future events. It
uses various techniques which includes data mining, machine learning, modelling etc.
Prescriptive analytics is another area of business analytics that is used in order to find a best
possible solution for a particular situation. Lastly, diagnostic analytics, evaluates the data in
order to answer a question. This helps in understanding the reason behind why something
happened in the past and therefore, is an important tool that can be used for making effective
decisions.
Therefore, as a result our team manager advised us to take online courses and start
interacting with the customers as much as possible because this would help in understanding
their needs in an effective manner. As a result, I used to assist customers in their buying process
and help them in making better decisions about buying a product. This is important because
customers find it helpful when employees help them and suggest the best available options to
them. This not only helps in creating a long-term relation with the customers but also gain their
loyalty (Ko and et. al., 2017). There can be times when people make wrong decisions. This can
affect the overall performance of not only the firm, but the employees as well. On the other hand,
candidates who aspire to work for a particular company may sometimes make a wrong decision.
Therefore, it is important to have a clarity about what are they good at. Therefore, it can be said
that decision-making plays an important role.
Strengths and their impact on decision-making style and feedback
Decision making is a process that is related to planning, directing, organizing as well as
controlling. It is an important component that helps an organization to achieve its goals and
objectives. The manager of our team took the decision that we should undergo a training process
and acquire soft skills that can enhance the way we interact with the customers and address their
problems. The training and development process had a big influence on my overall performance
and I realized that customers play a major role in the overall success as well as failure of the
company. If effective decisions are made, an organization can achieve its goals and objectives
effectively. I learnt that employees within an organization should be provided effective training
from time to time so that they develop effective skills (Miceli and et. al., 2018). One of my

strengths is that I have a high grasping power which means that I can learning a certain thing in
less time as compared to others. I received a feedback from my team members that I had worked
hard in developing skills so that customers could have a happy experience and would be
satisfied.
The decision made were effective and helped in improving the overall performance of the
company. This further led to an increase in the profitability as well. There were various sources
of data that were used to make this decision. The sources included an overall evaluation of the
performance of employees and the satisfaction levels of customers. The process of decision-
making is helpful for the fruitful activity of authoritative exercises (Prakash, Singh and Yadav,
2018). All the administrative capacities, for example, arranging, sorting out, coordinating and
controlling are dictated by the choice. The accompanying focuses portrays the centrality of
dynamic in the association.
CONCLUSION
From the above report, it can be concluded that there are various sources through which
decision can be taken. This can include predictive, descriptive and prescriptive analytics. Also,
decision making is of the most important components that make sure the overall performance of
an organization in enhanced. Not only this, effective decision -making allows an organization to
achieve its goals in an efficient manner. Therefore, a person can enhance the overall performance
and productivity of their team by making effective decisions.
