Decision made using Vroom-Jago Model
The Vroom-Jago Decision Model is one such tool that guides a leader to determine
whether to take a decision alone or involve the group and to what extent the group needs to be
involved (Lührs, Jager, Challies & Newig, 2018). The Operations Manager has taken the
decision of hiring 15 additional consultants, 2 support staff and invest some fund in expanding
business space and equipment. In order to successfully implement these changes, the Operations
Manager required to use the Vroom-Jago Model basing upon its 7 questions. As a leader, the
operations manager will be focusing on finding a good solution of hiring new people to support
the business operations. The decision of implementing a flexible schedule with all the
consultants and providing with work from home up to three days per week will be considered.
The manager will have enough information to make the decision and consider a plan basing upon
his/her experience. The plan might work as it will be implemented for the benefit of the business
and this change will also be communicated to other departments. A disagreement might likely
arise in some departments.

As the operations manager wishes to expand, the HR department might resist due to
expenses on training and orientation while hiring new employees.
The HR department may face the issue to managing new along with existing employees
and the organization structure.
Finance Department issues

The Finance Department might not resist the investment in new office space and
equipment. Although this would expand the business operations, the Finance
department might be reluctant to invest in fixed assets and other resources.
The dilemma can be in replacing the old assets because of change in technology.
Addressing the issues
The issues identified can be addressed first by making the management and employees
understand the rationale attached to this change. The HR department can reduce the expenses by
prioritizing the employee training and reducing employee turnover. The increased competition
can be addressed by strengthening employee retention policies where they can be motivated and
provided with a scope of internal promotions (Bode, Singh & Rogan, 2015). The Operations
Manager can resolve the issue with the Finance Department by incorporating changes only in
resources that would bring productivity.
