Report
AI Summary
This report analyzes a decision support system (DSS) using Simon's model. It provides a checklist for each phase of the model, including the Intelligence, Design, and Choice phases. The Intelligence phase focuses on problem identification and data analysis. The Design phase involves selecting a design methodology and assessing feasibility. The Choice phase considers all possible choices and their cost-effectiveness. The report includes a case study and references to support the analysis and is designed to provide insights into how to develop and implement an effective DSS. The goal is to improve decision-making processes within an organization, such as the provided example of DFWHC.

1DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM
Decision Support System of DFWHC using Simon’s model
The Simon’s model consists of three phases namely Intelligence Phase, Design Phase,
and Choice Phase (Pkirs.utep.edu., 2017). The decision system is formed for the development of
the DFWHC so that effective development system is formed. The analysis would provide the
management of the system integration and carrying out the development of the operations
(Hartnett et al., 2016). Following are the checklist for each of the phases of Simon’s decision
making process,
Checklist for Intelligence Phase
Check Checklist Item
Is the information used for the decision support system prominent?
Are the problems identified for the DFWHC significant?
Can the Decision support system be helpful for easing the processes of DFWHC?
Is the comparison of the information done cohesively for forming the decision
support system?
Checklist for Design Phase
Check Checklist Item
Is any design methodology selected for the decision making system development?
Has the design feasibility being checked by the designer of the system for
DFWHC?
Does the support of the advanced tools being used for the system development?

2DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM
Is the design of the system symmetric and aligned to client’s requirements?
Checklist for Choice Phase
Check Checklist Item
Have all the possible choices considered for selection of choice made?
Is the choice taken cost effective or value benefit for DFWHC?
Does the final decision process is taken by considering all important and crucial
factors?
Does the client (DFWHC’s owners) approve of the decision taken?
