Introduction
Deep learning method deals with higher order of thinking and focuses on the ability of
learners to understand the learning content. It builds the relationship between the new and the
old knowledge in order to solve the problems of real scenario. The concept of Deep learning
is completely dependent on cognitive strategy and primary knowledge. In this study, the
concept of deep learning will be discussed and then the importance it has on students of
foundation year will also be focussed. The development process of Deep learning will be
emphasised.
a. Discuss the concept of deep learning and identify its importance for the foundation
year student?
As per Ning and Zhu (2016), deep learning is the method that deals with the high order
thinking and enables the learner to understand the contents easily so that practical problems
can be solved. Moreover, it helps to create a relation between old and new knowledge. The
qualitative difference in learning outcome depends upon the understanding level of the
learner. The foundation year students are advised to adopt deep learning method so that they
can have proper understanding of contents. In the Quantitative method the students are
provided with the passage so that to examine learning strategies of students (Dolmans et al.,
2016). This method is applied to analyse whether students are able to understand the content
at a deeper level. Deep learning enables the students to get motivated to learn in an effective
manner.
Effective learning is termed as deep learning because this method enables the learner to learn
with deliberate intentions. Process of learning may involve academic social or personal
learning. This method helps the students to learn new concepts and analyse it critically. They
get a clear knowledge about the study in a primary cognitive structure. As per Battaglia et al.
(2018), the cognitive structure is the ability of the person to understand the study by mental
ability and acquiring knowledge through experience and implying senses. Deep learning is
the process of developing intelligence and applying it in the learning process. The cognitive
structure helps the students to learn the study in an effective way by learning advances
method of cognitive activities. The human machine interactions are made so as to enable the

students to study in an effective manner. For instance modern techniques like digital media
can be used while teaching the students so that their retention rate can be boosted. Deep
learning method enables the students to prepare themselves with the advanced method of
learning that helps them to develop their skills. This method makes the students more curious
and active; they become more independent in order to complete their own tasks. Deep
learning method. This fact enables the student to analyse the study easily and learn it
effectively.
As per the case study, the primary knowledge and the Meta cognitive process are the basis of
deep learning. The primary knowledge indicates the elementary knowledge of the student that
they have learned in their primary schools (Meyer et al., 2015). This knowledge helps the
student to develop the base of the study that is helpful for their higher studies. The
knowledge, which is gained at an early stage, is more acceptable to the brain and people
remember it for years. The Meta cognition is the process in which the knowledge and
thinking process of the students of foundation year is controlled by the learning activity of the
student. This helps the foundation year student to enhance their learning ability.
b. Explain how deep learning could be developed?
Deep learning enables the students to learn easy methods of learning and develop their
learning process. The most effective way to develop deep learning method is the use of
computers. This process is effective in transferring knowledge to the students and enables to
solve problems effectively (Shen et al., 2017). The students who take part in deep learning
have strong initiative. They have purpose to build knowledge about the study and use them to
solve problems in the future. Student who perform deep learning strategies gain more
knowledge.
The deep learning process can be developed by the use of human and machines interactions.
There is a large amount of data in the innovation of any new strategies of learning which
needs to be maintained and this can be kept secure with the computers (Witten et al., 2016).
Machine learning is the most effective way to do deep learning and develop the skills of the
students. That is, more research can be done by using websites and pictures rather than
visiting the places. This saves time of the student and they get more time to learn effectively.
The students can practice more on their thinking process to develop their decision power so
that whatever is learned to be focused on the quality not the quantity. The machines
interaction helps the students to learn and search about study less time by researching it from

different websites and learn it on their own. The collection of data and information can be
collected with the help of machines and can be stored for future references. The students to
enhance their learning power use this method. The cognitive and Meta cognitive method is
the thinking power of the individual that the students can use to develop their skills. The
mind of people accepts information from the outside world and responds to it effectively by
thinking about the process and the information. The information received by the mind, it
accepts it and sends backs the responsive actions so as to implement it in reality. This is the
process of cognitive research. This method is an important method to develop learning
process in students.
The learning materials can be stored by the use of computers and can be used later to learn
about the same information. In any research process, the students can store all the data and
information in the computer and use it effectively in the execution of the projects. This helps
the foundation year students to store facts about their learning process. The deep learning
process requires effective computing power. The students in analysing the study can apply
the learning process and calculating it effectively that how much is learned qualitatively. The
students can make decisions regarding their computing process whether they have learned it
efficiently or not (Xing et al., 2015). For example, the students can increase the activities of
learning in their deep learning process to increase their cognitive strategy. The students can
make notes and survey about the process to achieve learning in personal. This will help the
student to analyse about the real data facts that makes easier for the students to remember.
The survey will enable the students to interact with others and learn about them that they can
implement it in future for their growth.
c. Draw conclusions based on these key points.
The method and concept of deep learning is discussed in order to make the students
understand the benefits of the deep learning process. Deep learning is a process that makes
the student to get higher order thinking that helps students to get an in-depth understanding of
the contents. It enables the student to apply strategic thinking process in their learning
process. The students to get a clear idea about the learning, adopts different activities of the
learning process. The deep thinking process is linked with the advancement of technologies
that is the effective technological process such as computers can be used to perform research
work and gain knowledge regarding new ideas. The importance of Quantitative and
Qualitative method of learning is analysed so that the students focus on quality of learning

rather than quantity of learning used to perform research work and gain knowledge regarding
new idea (McNabb, 2015). The students in order to develop their knowledge and skill uses
research techniques to improve their survey methods in future. This helps the students in the
communication process and makes them analyse the study in an effective way.
The development process of deep learning is analyzed to know about how the students can
develop their deep learning process. The learning processes and the use of alternate methods
of learning are analysed in the report to improve critical thinking power of students. This
method is effective for the students to focus more on the content rather than other irrelevant
information.
