adopt the social as well as environmental friendly approach in business activities. The business
chosen for this essay is Delta Hotels by Marriot. The whole chain is working well in the field of
sustainability development. The efforts taken by the company for sustainability development and
benefits of the same are mention in the following discussion.
Marriott International is the owner of Delta hotels. There are many hotels and resorts in
the chain of Delta hotels. If to talk about the foundation of this chain, this is to mention that the
person named William Pattison founded this chain in the year 1962 (Staff, 2011). All the hotels
of the selected chain are very much involved and active in the field of corporate social
responsibility. Green Delta program of subjective hotel chain is one of the significant steps
towards sustainability development. As per the objectives of this programme, all the hotels of
Delta hotel chain are required to reduce the use of water and energy and carbon emission by
thirty percent in the period of next five years. In addition to reduce the use of these resources,
hotels are also required to improve their waste diversion by twenty five percent. All the hotels of
the chain are changing their manner of working in order to achieve the goals set under Delta
Green Initiative. In conjunction to Delta Green, Delta hotels also adopted many activities to
improve the sustainable development. A brief of some of the steps taken by the different hotels
of chain are mentioned as below:-
