INTRODUCTION
Mental health is defined as the emotional, psychological and social well-being of
individual. This is usually affect the thinking, feeling and acting pattern of any individual due the
issue with the mental health (Bruffaerts and et. al., 2018). Dementia is defined as the term which
is used to describe that based on symptoms which is predominately affect memory, thinking and
social abilities which is interfere with the daily life. This is not specific disease but several
diseases which can cause dementia. In this, according to pathophysiology, this is state that they
have complex situation with the pattern and function of central nervous system due the variation
in the process of the body. As per this, the requirement a good mental health is important for the
number of people as per the different age group (Abba-Aji and et. al., 2020). In this report, there
are various dementia patient who need care in rehabilitation are well discussed. This is helpful to
handle stress, relate to others and have ability to make their own choices. The mental health
plays a vital role in every stage of life which may be started from the childhood and adolescence
through the adulthood. In this report, the discussion is fully depending on the aspect of dementia
of older people (Coyne and et. al., 2020).
MAIN BODY
Overview of dementia
In this essay, I used to explain the pathophysiology of dementia in an older person. Whereas,
I used to manage the complication which is related with dementia. Moreover, the mental health
and wellbeing is an essential which is completed and show the aspect of reflection which is show
the aspect of evidence, I used to focus on the knowledge which help to influence and provide the
aspect of knowledge and information which is related with dementia treatment and diagnosis
(Wakschlag and et. al., 2019).
To understand the concept of dementia, John is 55-year-old male. During critical
situation of Alzheimer, he used to take some of medication and he was usually forgetting thing
and events which is happen. At a time, the disease become progressive and cause various
complication with John. With this condition, one-day John just fall from the stair and take
serious injury on head and legs, in this, the nursing care is provided and he constantly deal with
some of symptoms of dementia. The wound takes some time to heal and due to this the

medication of dementia is not provided to John at routine basis. Resultant, the condition become
critical and serious (Dickens and et. al., 2020).
As per this, I analyse that there is at least four of the older people faces some of mental
disorder which usually include depression, anxiety and dementia (Olashore and et. al., 2018).
Due the ageing and they have vast population, the number of older people with the mental
disorder which is expected by various survey and group who is used to state that number become
double by 2030. In this, the depression which is most prevalent problem that is recognised as a
common mental health issue in the older people. Two third of older people with mental health do
not get proper treatment which is provided to reduce the complication. Moreover, the people at
the age of 85 and more have the highest tendency of suicide rate but as per the current time, the
people from the different age group also face number of issue which is associated with mental
health disorder. The mental health and their service are related with for the older people and for
adults have some the limited in most of the countries (Levecque and et. al., 2017). Moreover,
there are huge patient who is dealing with dementia and in the rehabilitation a proper aspect of
treatment is provided to number of patient who is dealing with dementia. As per taking the
aspect of Alzheimer disease is the most common which is based on the cause of progressive
dementia in older adults, but there are number of other causes of dementia. In this, all the ways
which have some of because which is associated with the dementia which might be reversible.
Symptoms of dementia
With the aspect of John case, I used to figure some of the symptoms which is associated
with dementia that is based on the various variety which have specific structure that associated
with brain as well as various system degeneration. Moreover, they causing a cortical-subcortical
degeneration of ascending cholinergic neurons and large pyramidal cells in cerebral cortex. As
per this, in the rehabilitation they complete focus on the mechanism of medicine and other factor
decrease the mental illness which is associated with patient, moreover, dementia have their own
mechanism to create illness. In the rehabilitation centre they focus on providing quality of care
and quality of life to number of people who is dealing with dementia (Torkmandi and et. al.,
2021).
Pathophysiology of dementia
Dementia is act as symptoms and they have variety of specific brain issue which is
associated with the several systems which is based on degeneration. Moreover, Alzheimer

disease presently which is common cause which is develop in recent time of world which is
cause cortical-subcortical degeneration of ascending cholinergic neurons and large pyramidal
cells in the cerebral cortex, clinically which is based on reflect predominantly which help to
show the condition of deterioration of function in the association cortex. As per this,
pharmacological and pathological, abnormalities which is more diffusional and extend in to the
sensorimotor areas as well (White and et. al., 2019).
Treatment
The mental health issue is common nowadays and this is rising due the various factor and
pathophysiological change which is consistently faced by number of people due the isolation and
negative behaviour of people in communities and social group (Fitzke and et. al., 2021). There
are number of research which used to recommend that older people benefits from the supportive
social connection and close personal relationship but this can cause some of result due the suffer
which is associated from the disrupted personal ties and loneliness. However, health care
provider who used serve the patient and provide quality of care which play a vital role in order to
promote the mental health for older people by providing and working with mental health
professional, local government, civil and supportive environment (Mikkelsen and et. al., 2017).
dementia symptoms are usually depending on the cause but some of common sign and symptoms
which is associated and include, memory loss which is usually noticed by someone else. In this,
they are facing difficulties in communicating and finding words, they face and deal with issue
which is visual and spatial abilities such as getting lost while driving.
The nursing management plan
In this, they are also facing some of the factor which help to encourage people to
participate in their social group and community (Hébert and et. al., 2021). With this, it is helpful
approach which used to reduce impact of mental health among older people by introducing new
environment and try to engage with people and communities. This help to use the biological
process which trigger to create the depressive and stressful feeling and thought among older
people (Arikrishnan and et. al., 2020). The policy maker also used to ensure that older people
with mental health concern are being addressed in the national health planning and policies
(Moreno and et. al., 2020).

CONCLUSION
As per the above discussion, it is analysing that the mental health issue is complex
situation for the older people because it usually creates negative thought and feeling towards the
life. This is also trigger older people to commit suicide due the loneliness. Moreover, it is
initially beginning with isolation from society and communities for longer period which used to
create the condition of depression, anxiety and various disorder which is associated with the
mental health.
