Introduction
This presentation is based on a research project that is related with the topic of
diagnosis and support of patient suffering form Dementia. In this presentation
information about the research title, questions and objectives is provided through
use of PICO framework. Apart from this, a literature review and steps to select a
suitable article is also their.

Research question
 The research question for this presentation based on interest of researcher is
“What specialist services and medication are provided to older people suffering
from dementia in England ?” thus the main focus of this investigation is on
studying and investigating staff roles and tasks performed by Community
Mental Health Teams (CMHT) and memory clinics, that comes under the
framework determined by a local Clinical Commissioning Groups

 Significance of research: The current report holds a huge importance as

Research questions and objectives using PICO framework
The research question for this assignment is “What specialist services
and medication are provided to older people suffering from dementia in
England ?”. thus, the main objective of this research work is also associated
with the Specialist services and medication that should be provided in in early
diagnosis and support for older people with dementia in England.

A discussion about four key components of PICO framework in context of current research work is
provided below:
 P- the first p indicates the patient or population or the problem. The selected population for current
research work are 68 individuals that are identified by medical health providers. The population for
this investigation includes all adults patients who are suffering from dementia and require an acute
medicine unit and health care services.
 I- the I denotes the intervention of research project i.e. the main issues and problems including
information about the treatment and diagnosis's test proposed.

 C- it is denotes the comparison intervention. With regard to current research
question a comparison between Donepezil and Memantine medicines are made
to evaluate that which of two are more effective and stringer to cure Dementia
from beginning to end.
 O- This point reflects information about outcomes of interest thus, providing

is included in end of this research work.

It provide deep analysis and evaluation of various published articles and journal to
develop better understanding about the research questions. Following Literature
survey are conducted for finding answer of current research question i.e. “What

 The inclusion and exclusion criteria to select article for this searches and

professional database. After that, on UWL library I have clicked on A-Z
databases after which I chose and pick CINAHL complete database at the top.

Literature gap: -
As per the secondary investigation performed over the specialist services and
medication are provided to older people suffering from dementia in England it ios
emphasized to provide detailed information about the several kind of services that
are exerted to the patients who are suffering from dementia in their old age. But the
secondary investigation lack behind the several factor or barriers that affect the
working practices of the health care service provide in order to exert these kind of
services as well as actions they must undertake in order to deal with these challenge.

Conclusion
On the basis of this research project it can be concluded that following research is
conducted to develop better understanding about the concept of Dementia. It can
also be concluded that various steps are included in selecting an appropriate article
for a research that includes various steps like going to Cumulative Index of Nursing
and allied health professional database and go through the title of all articles in
order to find a key and most suitable article for my research work.
