Unified Communications & VoIP Project for OTS: Design & Deployment

This project focuses on designing and deploying a Unified Communications (UC) system for Online Travel Services (OTS), an Australian-based organization with multiple offices. The project involves migrating from a legacy PBX and PSTN system to a VoIP solution using Asterisk and SIP trunking. The solution includes designing the architecture, selecting VoIP technologies, specifying hardware and software requirements, and developing a deployment plan. The project covers various aspects of UC, such as IVR, call queuing, call parking, ring groups, and voicemail. The project is divided into two parts: design and planning, and deployment. Part 1 covers the design and planning phase, including selecting VoIP technologies and preparing the architecture design. Part 2 focuses on the deployment phase, detailing the installation and configuration of Asterisk, creating extensions and trunks, configuring outbound and inbound routing, and post-deployment testing. The goal is to provide a cost-effective and scalable UC solution that can be expanded to other OTS offices. The project also includes a question-and-answer section to consolidate the understanding of the concepts.
