INTRODUCTION
The process of evaluating own performance helps individuals develop self-awareness needed to
make improvement (Meyer and Larson, 2018). Design Development is a complex process which
requires individuals to enhance their creative thinking skills and develop original ideas and
clearly the process through which these practical and variable ideas have been develop. This
evaluation report is based on the business design development project digital portfolio. The
digital portfolio was based on the business start-up idea of online second hand clothing
marketplace which included company application and website.

Research Skills: Looking back at
my work I have analysed that my
main strength when it comes to
designing digital portfolio is
research skills. I have both primary
and secondary research skills as I am
able to complete a survey
questionnaire to get information
directly from first hand respondent’s
while I also have the ability to
conduct secondary research through
suitable accurate relevant and
credible online sources. Students
need to develop superior research
skills in order to accomplish
academic objectives as research is
relevant in every area of academic
field (Kelly, 2019). I was able to
conduct effective primary research
Communication skills: I do not have
effective written communication skills
which reduced my ability to produce a
more engaging and articulate digital
portfolio. After reviewing and evaluating
the next but in on PowerPoint presentation
format digital portfolio I have understood
that the text is very rigid and lacks
creativity or an engaging yet professional
structure. This was the biggest drawback
of my PowerPoint presentation according
to me because it reduced the readers
ability to follow through my statements
and research and may also lead to
confusion. I need to make my written
communication better and enhance the
articulation level of my return material so
that any further record with projects can
be improved. This will also help me show

which provided me with updated
data while effective secondary
research helped me improve my
existing knowledge on the topic of
digital portfolio.
PPT usage: I also have effective
presentation skills as I was able to
utilise every tool available in
Microsoft PowerPoint presentation
software to make the presentation
more appealing and attractive. I used
tools to improve the PowerPoint
presentation design, insert shapes,
improve the look of my annotations,
and design of the text included in the
PowerPoint presentation so that it is
easy to understand. Building an
attractive PPT is not only an
academic but professional
requirement (LeFebvre and et. al.,
2022). I believe that if I improve this
strength I will be able to focus on
other areas of producing digital
portfolios or completing other types
of academic projects or research.

Organization Skills: I do not possess high
levels of organisational skills because I am
not able to organise the tasks I have in a
systematic manner and follow schedules.

working (Kačamakovic and Lokaj, 2021).
I do most of my work in an unsystematic
and intuitive manner. This weakness was
highlighted during the production of the
digital portfolio as I was not able to follow
the timeline which I created for myself nor
was I able to complete the different parts
of the project in a systematic manner
which also affected the quality of my work
and resulted in me not being able to see

the work. I need to improve on the skill so
that I am able to produce better work for
the future.

The biggest obstacle I faced was creating a timeline and specific schedule for the project. This is
because I lack effective organisation skills. Initially I decided to complete the project intuitively
but I observed that creating a specific timeline and schedule for the digital portfolio is necessary
so that I am able to complete each step in a systematic manner. I overcame the standing by

creating again chart of activities which need to be completed to develop a final design outcome
and build a suitable digital portfolio. Still my ineffective organisation skills derailed the
development of digital portfolio as I was not able to complete specific activities according to the
schedule.
In addition to this and the challenge I faced while completing the investigation was
related to developing a suitable questionnaire for conducting their primary research. I overcame
this obstacle by revising my knowledge of research methodology so that I am able to instruct an
ethical and useful questionnaire to extract data from first time respondents.
Did you conduct strong primary / secondary research?
The primary research in this digital portfolio project included completing a questionnaire
survey to get post end data. The collection of raw data with the help of primary research helps
individuals get latest information on any topic so that they are able to build a relevant outcome
from the information (Pearson and Geronimus, 2018). In addition to this secondary research was
also completed by using books journals and articles to get existing information on the topic and
finish the digital portfolio in time.

CONCLUSION
From the above report it is concluded that individuals are able to determine the weak areas of
their capabilities while finishing an evaluation report. The results provided by an evaluation
report can shed light on areas which need to be enhanced to get higher quality output weather it
is related to academia, professional life or personal commitments. In addition to this an
evaluation report also involves identifying the challenges faced during the past experience and
ways of overcoming the specific challenge so that evaluation of own problem solving skills can
be conducted which supports better performance in the future.
