AND INNOVATION
CONTEXT
The design mindset can be largely defined as a
tool which is used as a skill in order to apply
creativity, empathy, sound thinking and
knowledge for a problem, in order to come out
with a viable solution for a designated problem
in an organizational context (O'Keefe &
Rottenberg, 2017). The solution which is found
can be rightfully described as an innovation.
The design is an amalgamation of both
practicality and creativity. A design
mindset can only be achieved when the
process and mechanics are combined
(Daniel, A. D. (2016). Its not just about
creativity but also about the system in
which an organization works. In
innovation, a new idea needs to be
implemented, which is impossible
without a practical mindset.
The procedure of design mindset in the concept of
design thinking is very crucial. It has been explained as
follows :
Empathize: Understanding of the situation
Define: Defining the problem at hand.
Ideate: Evaluating the different ideas (Gray, 2016).
Prototype: Choosing the best ones
Test: Applying on the problem (Van Der Pijl, Lokitz , &
Solomon, 2016).
The procedure assists in ensuring that innovative
solutions can be implemented successfully.
