1. Introduction
Design thinking allows perception is a whole new pattern that have not been imagined
earlier. Design thinking allows the think tank of an organisation or the personal intellect of a
person to use a number of innovative lens for growing an understanding of the customer
needs or the purpose of implementation. In case if the purpose of someone is to change
something from the current situation, to a preferred one, design thinking helps to accomplish
the same in the most feasible way. I have been able to accomplish the same through the
means of prototype testing and have tried to continually refine concept and thus achieved the
value adding point. I can define design thinking in the best possible way using the diagram:
2. Discussion
2.1 Role of Creativity in the Design thinking process
Throughout my course I have realised that creativity is the best quality that has been
most helpful for me to understand and implement the design process. I have perceived
through my courses that creativity is the best quality that have helped me to maintain the
flexibility of mind. This has assisted me highly to achieve the design thinking mind-set that is
of utmost importance for my course work. In fact, studies of Liedtka (2015), have confirmed

the fact that the individuals who imply a design thinking mind-set are greatly benefitted by
the features like spontaneity, expressiveness and do not suffer from inhibition.
However, through my course I have learned that creativity is lot different from
originality. Many existing ideas state that the creative ideas are out of the box thoughts that
represent our original perception. However, in this context, the definition of Elsbach &
Stigliani (2018), regarding creativity helps to make the correct implication of creativity.
Creativity is rather defined as the bringing together of the existing perceptions to create a
completely new angle of thinking.
In the course of design thinking, I have learned how to coalesce ideas that are
apparently unrelated through bissociation. Creative visual thinking has helped me to base my
thinking on the knowledge of the previous work and use the foundation as a source for future
research. Through the course of design thinking, the adaptations to think intuitively as well as
creatively are enlivened (Howlett, 2014).
The exercises that have been incorporated in this course have helped me to expand the
necessary skills of creativity. I have learned that design process is a process of problem
solving that requires the implications of the designer (Koh et al. 2015). In this context,
creativity is the most important instruments that helps us to approach in the most systematic
fashion.
2.2 Demand of reality in innovation
In the practical field, most of the genres demand innovation. In nay genre of business,
I have realised through this course that it is impossible to create waves without innovation,
and that is why creativity is the primary tool kit of innovation. Many of the nicely grossing
companies have confirmed that believing that strategies would work before they are tested for
implementation are actually misleading perceptions that can cause harm to business. One of

the primary lessons that I have acquire through this course is that the companies have to
perceive that all their major competitors are thinking out of the box and that is why design
thinking is the basic component of success of the most successful entrepreneurial companies
that have tasted success so far. From a business perspective it is essential to understand that
time have massively changed and the perception of the customers have also changed. Hence
the customers are also demanding that there be variation is the same products and the
presentation be innovative. This is where creativity comes in to play.
2.3 Limitations of Creativity
Successful design thinkers have followed the unique pattern of development of creative ideas
that can be put in to implementation However creative implications in case of design thinking
is allows implementation of ideas in the most random manner followed by collection of ideas
as well as skills by means of reading as well as experimentation (Geissdoerfer, Bocken &
Hultink, 2016). As an outcome, the results that follow creative designs are not always the
most beneficial and as an outcome, the course outcomes may also be hampered.
3. Conclusion
This report discusses the importance of design thinking as I have perceived and
represented in the visualisation presentation. Design thinking have a high place of relevance I
the professional domain. However the trait of creativity is most suitable for the way in which
I have perceived and practiced design thinking throughout this course.
