AI Summary
This document is a poster project designed to visually represent the relationship between personal reflection and design thinking. The assignment, part of a Management course (MGMT20140), requires students to create an A2-sized poster explaining why personal reflection is crucial in design thinking. The student's poster demonstrates an understanding of how personal reflection, the ability to introspect and learn, enhances the design thinking process, which is a human-centered approach to problem-solving. The poster likely explains how reflection helps in improving services, scrutinizing decisions, and refining innovative processes. The project emphasizes skills such as visualization, summarization, prioritization, and synthesis, essential for effective communication in design thinking. The student provides references to support their arguments.

MANAGEMENT
What is personal reflection and why is it so important for Design Thinking?
Personal reflection can be considered as the capacity of human beings to exercise any
type of introspection and the willingness to learn about the fundamental nature, purpose and
essence of an individual. On the other hand, as observed by Kolko (2015) decision thinking is
considered as a process that can be used for solving problems. The unique quality of decision
thinking is the fact that it is a human centred approach. The encouragement is provided to the
people of an organisation in which better leads and products are considered as internal
processes. In this regard, a link between personal reflection and design thinking can be made
which can help in identifying the importance of the matter in an organisation.
As stated by Turner (2018) one of the important aspects that are to be taken into
consideration is the fact that with personal reflection, design thinking can be implemented
and used in a manner that can provide organisations with an opportunity for improvement of
the services. Managers in an organisation can continue with the stages of design thinking in
order to maintain a note of the failures and the success undertaken while constituting a
decision. In this regard, it can be said that process related design thinking could be taken into
account so that personal reflection can be understood (Kolko, 2015).
With the effectiveness of personal thinking, each of the decisions undertaken in an
organisation by the managers can be scrutinised. For example, scrutiny can be made about
any innovative process that is to be undertaken based on the financial considerations of an
organisation. Thus, it can be said that personal reflection and the design thinking process can
be linked for the better utilisation of the process in the future.
