Week 1
In the first week of the study, we were made acquainted with the basic concepts of design
thinking for managers. In this week, we study that design thinking is a key that is used by the
businesses to make innovations and development in the business. It was the first week of
learning of the subject that we were taught about the importance of reflective writing and its
importance in the design thinking process (Kembaren, et. al., 2014). I learned that reflective
writing is very important for a manager so that the complex issues of the business can be solved.
It is also important to conduct self-reflection to have growth and maturity. Our tutor also told us
that visualization is a technique that can be used by an individual to apply design thinking or it
can be said that visualization is the best design thinking tool that can assist in having an
appropriate view of the issue and then its solutions.
Week 2
In the second week of learning, we study the difference between design and business. The
application of design thinking in running a business effectively was also learned in the second
week of the study. I learned about the various tools and processes of design thinking that can be
used by managers to resolve the complex business issues. All the concepts were taught by our
tutor by telling some business innovation stories (Dorst, 2011). It helped us to gain insights
about the significance of design thinking in the businesses. There was a very important concept
that was studied in the week was about the concept of design as philosophy. As per this concept,
this area of study defines the assumptions, implications and foundations of design. We study
about reflective writing in the first week, but we understood the whole concept of reflection in
the second week.

Then in the third week of the learnings of design thinking, I learned about the several theories
that are related to the design thinking processes (Leifer & Steinert, 2011). The models relevant to
design thinking were taught by our tutor. Out tutor conducted various activities so that we can
