INTRODUCTION
In the current investigation I will provide detailed information on the scope of profession in HR.
The HR profession demands of great perception, confident communication and convincing skills.
I urge to create my career in HR field as an HR associate (Yerby, 2019). HR assistant open a
great deal of opportunities and learning scope for people and the organisations. Huge number of
youth are opting HR as a career since people want to connect more with human and understand
their needs as to what they expect out of the job they apply to. This investigation aims to
understand the qualities and skills required by me to become a successful HR associate along
with it this investigation includes major trends that are prevalent in the current market. For taking
out detailed piece of information primary and secondary sources will be used. Secondary
information will be carried out through books, articles and journals (Karoliny and Sipos, 2019).
On the other hand, primary information will be assembled through interview method in which
open ended questions are included so that opinions and views can be gathered in detailed
manner.

There are certain trends that hold great importance within the HR profession. People are the asset
of an organisation and their management is done by the human resource management. For an
organisation to be successful, every business is obliged to enhance its workforce by aligning
their work with latest trends. With the high advancement in technologies, the human resource
departments of organisations are changing gradually over the years.
Technology: One of the significant trend in Human Resource profession is technology. Advance
technology holds great importance in the HR profession because it has made their work quite
easy and convenient (Mayo, 2020). HR professional uses applicant tracking software and cloud
computing for the successful recruitment of talented candidates for the vacant job positions.
These tools assist professionals to carry out merit based selection by eliminating any kind of
bias. Moreover, the HR professionals are assisted by several other technological tools to promote
different other HR activities like on boarding, orientation, trainings and payroll upload. With the
assistance of advance technologies, companies are able to manage their hectic work in a simpler
way. This has also assisted in building great relationship between employees and HR.

A recent graduate who is desiring to build a career in HR profession should have great
knowledge of advance technology so that they can handle various software used in HR system.
So companies are looking for graduates who can operate with advance technologies and artificial
intelligence.
Globalisation: The other greatest trend within HR profession is globalisation. Globalisation has
provided opportunities to brands and companies to expand their business and include employees
from different countries (Beaven, 2019). This has great impact over the profession of HR
because they have to manage employees who are working globally. Human resource department
forms certain strategies through which they can attract and recruit talented candidates from other
countries. The HR managers and executives have the duty to recruit people who could easily
manage international clients effectively and efficiently so that business could grow and develop.
Globalisation also impacts the recent graduates who want to make a career in the HR profession.
Graduates should have skills that can be applied anywhere in the world because businesses now
have international clients. So, companies need graduates who can understand and respect the
culture of different countries and help businesses to grow by including people in the business
operation from these countries.
Diversity and Inclusion: The culture of an organisation plays pivotal role to offer positive
experience to its workforce. This is one of the trends that holds major importance within the
profession of HR (Fareed and et. al., 2020). HR professionals plant a seed of affiliation and
inclusion so that employees could build confidence for expressing their idea with equity. In
simpler words, HR professional make cohesive work culture so that they can boost performance
of the employees and decrease high employee turnover.
This trend also impacts the recent graduates as they must be capable of recruiting diverse
candidates and make them work together under one roof. This could be only done when these
recent graduates have positive mind-set and have the belief of respecting every religion, caste,
gender etc. Therefore, companies are looking for graduates who can easily engage employee
from different backgrounds and give an organisation strong workforce.
Employee Wellness Programs: With the fast-paced working culture and competitive race, stress
level of employee working in an organisation have been on the rise (Snoek, Dengerink and de
Wit, 2019). For keeping employee’s mental health intact, HR practitioners provide advance
workplace wellness programs for strengthening well-being of employees so that they can have

that machine learning and artificial intelligence are one of the trends. With the help of artificial
intelligence, HR professionals are able to recruit and select candidates who have great
knowledge about the responsibilities of vacant positions (Bayer and Lyons, 2020). This also
includes training programs that are used by HR professional to train their new candidates in the
organisation. Trainings are also provided with the help of internet through videos, video
conferencing, live sessions etc. This helps in saving the time of HR professionals as well as
employees of the company (Ford and et. al., 2021). Therefore, as per the primary source,
artificial intelligence is one of the greatest trends within the profession of HR.
The skills, knowledge and experience required
There are certain skills, knowledge and experience required for doing any kind of job. It is
necessary to possess skills so that given responsibilities could be performed effectively and
efficiently. For the responsibility of HR assistant there are certain set of skills and knowledge
which must be possessed by a recent graduate. Some of the skills and knowledge are given
below in a brief way.
Key skills
Communication skill: A recent graduate who wants to build a career as HR Assistant should
have communication skill. Excellent communication skill is essential because HR department is
the link between employees and the organisation. HR communicates with different levels of
authority figures within the organisation (Pandey, 2019). So, it becomes necessary that they
communicate well with people so that every problem could be resolved at right time. This
communication skill also includes oral, digital as well as written.

Teamwork skill: The other important skill needed by a graduate is teamwork skill. A human
resource assistant should be capable of resolving conflicts between with other departments
(Poba-Nzaou, Uwizeyemungu and Clarke, 2020). The HR assistant should have great team skills
so that they can work with senior employees and to all those employees who are new to the
organisation.
Advising skill: The other skill is advising skill that should be in HR assistant. HR assistant has
the duty of advising stakeholders of the organisation as well as members of the management on
different issues (Roper and Higgins, 2020).
Recruitment skill: HR assistants are involved in the procedure of recruitment so they must have
the ability to conduct this process fairly and ensure employee diversity. This also includes give
new candidates correct contracts and verifying identification (Matsankos and et. al., 2020).
Conflict resolution skill: The other skill needed by HR assistant is conflict resolution (Paukert,
Guay and Kim, 2021). These conflicts can be harassment problems, employee pay disputes,
health & safety issues etc.
Key knowledge
Software skill: HR assistant should have knowledge of HR software and tools. These tools are
quite useful in for the day to day operations (Ogar, Igwe and Effenji, 2019). This could include
company databases, office programs and scheduling software.
Conceptual skill: A recent graduate should have knowledge of theories and models so that they
can apply as an HR assistant and perform their work greater efficiency and effectiveness (Borg,

EVALUATION
From the above gathered information, it is evaluated that HR profession needs great knowledge
and skills. The job role of an HR Assistant has great interest of me because it focuses on the
welfare of employees working in the organisation. I believe that I am suitable for performing the
job responsibilities of an HR because I possess great communication and have the ability to
convince people. I prefer job role of HR assistant over other job opportunities because this
includes current trends to make developed and success career.
