INTRODUCTION
Enterprise architecture is a process that organise various operation, function and
structure of firms and effective implementation of IT with alignment of organisational goals and
objectives. It is complex process to implement within firm as lot of time and effort are invested
by top management and IT manager to formulate effective strategies so that it can grow and
survive for longer period of time. This report is about govdept that has ineffective organisational
structure and use obsolete technology thus it had impacted on performance and productivity of
firm. The report describes about comprehensive roadmap and role that information technology
play in effective implementation of various strategies. It also explain why taxonomy of
documentation is important and role that standard and landscape plays in Govdept.
1 Comprehensive roadmap
It state company strategies and various plan or step that it is planning to take in near
future within 2-3 years so that it can gain competitive advantages and increase its market share.
Such as:
Improves its performance: Company has analysing and evaluating its current technology and
organisational structure in order to find areas in which it lacks that need to be improved for
achievement of goals. It can analysis its capabilities and existing strength within time period of
1-2 month on basis of various strategies can be formulated so that it can gain competitive
advantages (Lopez, Segura and Santórum, 2019).
Innovation in IT: Govdept has illustrated in comprehensive roadmap that it need to innovate its
information technology so that company can easily gather large amount of data and analysis it
effectively for preparation of strategies to influence customers to make purchase and employees
to work hard. Govdept can innovate its information technology within 7-8 month to provide
better services to customers.
Appropriate organisational structure: Third step that govdept has planned to take is to reform
its organisational structure and clearly define roles and responsibilities of each employees so that
common goals can be achieved. It helps in reducing feeling of “us and them” and building strong
relationship among employees so it can be implemented within 1 -2 years.

Effective monitoring: Company has planned to effectively monitor various functions performed
by employees and effective implementation of its strategies (Lindström, Nyström and
Zdravkovic, 2017). Govdept has planned to develop continuous monitoring process and analysis
performance with set standard so it can be performed within 2-3 months.
2 Five roles that information technology play in govdept
Information technology helps in effective collection of large number of data that are used
by top management of firm to formulate competitive strategies for growth and expansion of
business. Therefore various roles of IT in implementation of plan in govdept are as follows:
Helps in effective management of inventory: IT of Govdept helps in management of inventory,
storage of sufficient amount of raw material so that customers needs can be fulfilled within
limited time and cost. Accurate data related to current inventory and future to be required helps
in reducing wastage an effective utilisation of resources for organisational goals (Tambo, 2017).
Promote effective communication: It also helps in effective communication between
