INTRODUCTION
Communication plays a very important role when it comes to maintaining professional
relationships with the Children. In case of Children, they don't just learn how to learn at school
but also focus to work with each other and also playing together in a cooperative manner. With
the help of effective communication it helps in discovering and developing positive relationships
with other children coming from different backgrounds, cultures and adults too. In case of
supporting their learning, the major part of the role is support them with the social learning with
the help of demonstrating better relationships in interactions among the professionals, pupils and
teachers and provide them with a role model template to follow. The report further explains how
to build rapport with the adults and children in the professional environment and also bringing
strategies into play.
MAIN BODY
1.1 Why effective communication is beneficial in developing positive relationships with adults,
children and young individuals.
Effective communication can be basically defined as the type of communication which is
easy and quick to understood. In context to communication, there are various number of
strategies which can be used for the purpose to improve the effectiveness of the communication
and are considered to be highly simple(Roach, 2018).
In context to Positive relationships, these are considered to be those that can offer advantages to
everyone. In reference to a class room situation, they especially provide benefit to young people
and children through enabling their ability to take something in positive way. When effective
communication is basically aimed at helping positive relationships, there are few techniques
which could assist with this outcome.
Benefits of effective communication in the classroom
In context to classroom, effective communication basically means use of the positive
communication which supports children feeling comfortable in the setting or presence. It

basically comprises of the modelling behaviour through ensuring that the communication is
positive and effective(Roesch-Marsh, 2018).
Feels comfortable and happy: In context to effective communication, it basically promotes trust
and make everyone feels comfortable and happy.
Reduces miscommunication: In context to effective communication, the positive and direct
communication supports and helps everyone to feel sure about what is happening.
Helps pupils learn how to communicate in a positive manner: In context to effective
communication, without demonstrating the right kind of behaviour in any situation, it still results
in communicating the things without having to say them in a direct manner(Black, 2020).
1.2 Explain how different social, professional and cultural backgrounds might affect the
relationships and the way individuals communicate.
When it comes to communication, most of us are much more fluent in our own primary
language also when it comes to use of body language within our primary culture. When it comes
to different ways or methods of communication, the parameters tends to change and depends
upon the situation. This is how we basically adapt whether it is to different individuals, different
roles and different scenarios. When it comes to communication, it is majorly dependent upon the
ability to produce words(Sprott, 2019).
Social situations: In context to Social situations, the communication is spontaneous and
unplanned. With the help of using good communication techniques, it helps in influencing
relationships for the purpose to remain positive, listening to others and showing respect.
Professional Situations: In context to communication, not every communication is unplanned.
In case of schools, they often have a lot of planned communication in the formal settings and
also involves the unplanned type. Moreover, not all the communication is direct or verbal(Kerr,
and Gahm, 2018).

In context to communication, it can be very hard in some situations when writing or talking to
someone coming from different cultural context.
1.3 Ways in which practitioner can maintain and build professional relationship with the adults,
children and young people.
When it communication, it is very important to be highly sensitive to the needs of the
other adults usually when they have communication difficulties. In addition to that, it is very
important to adapt the way we communicate. For example, I am speaking to a carer or parent
who has a hearing impairment, it will focus on making a eye contact and I will make sure that I
am facing them. While communicating with adults, it is very important to adapt, observe and
reflect the methods of communication. In context to communication, there are different ideas and
values that can cause disagreements among the settings and parents. It is very important to work
alongside parents and clarifying the things need to happen in various ways at the nursery. In case
of some adults, they can act in a more aggressive manner and it is very important to offer support
and encouragement(Burke, Sanson and Van Hoorn, 2018).
1.4 How barriers to professional relationship can be overcome
In context to communication process, it is very important identify the barriers to the
professional relationship and using various methods for the purpose to overcome the which
involves the following ways:
Eliminating differences in perception: In context to organisation, in order to overcome the
barriers, it is very important to ensure that it is recruiting right individuals on the job.
Use of Simple language: In order to overcome the barriers of the communication, it is important
to use clear and simple words and using jargon and ambiguous words need to be avoided(Or, F.,
Kim, Simms and Austin, 2019).
Elimination and reduction of noise levels: In context to Noise, it is considered to be the main
communication barrier which need to be overcome for effective communication.

Emotional state: During the process of communication, it is very important to make effective
use of the body language. For example, if the convener of the message is in a bad mood then the
receiver might think that the information being delivered is not good(Kenny, M.E., Blustein,
D.L., Liang, B., Klein, T. and Etchie, Q., 2019).
2.1. Summarise the main points of legislation and procedures covering confidentiality, data
protection and the disclosure of information.
In context to the main points of the procedures and legislation covering confidentiality
are that only the individual people should have access to the confidential records except where a
pupil is potentially at risk. In context to data or information, it should not be given to the
agencies or adults unless previously agreed. In context to the school's procedures and policies, it
should be always followed regarding the sharing of information and confidentiality. It is very
important to be well aware of all the legal requirements in relation to the accessing of
information and record keeping in the school. Under the Data Protection Act 1998, all the
processing personal information and all the settings need to be comply with the eight enforceable
principle of good practice. It is important, that the personal data must be accurate, lawfully and
fairly processed, secure, relevant, not excessive and adequate and not kept longer than necessary.
In context to Disclosure of information, some carers and parents of the individuals you work
with may talk to you about their problems or provide details about the family. In context to the
school's procedures and policies, these should always be followed in relation to the sharing of
information or confidentiality. It is very important to be well aware about the accessing
information, legal requirements and record keeping. Under the Data Protection Act, 1998, all the
processing and settings of the personal information must be comply with the eight enforceable
principles of the good practice(Briggs, 2020).

In context to children, it is very important to reassure children, adults and young
individuals that any information or data about them is only used when necessary and keeping it
highly confidential and only for the duration required in order to maintain security and trust. It is

basically their right to privacy to have this information keeping confidential and not passing to
others. In context to teaching staff member, it is very important to not violate their trust and
putting them to any kind of harm by leaking personal information. In context to young people
and children, they need to be able to know that their personal data or information will be kept
confidential and won't be put at risk because of bullying and teasing by other individuals. It is
very important that the adults feel secure in the knowledge that their children will no be the topic
of any kind of playground gossip by the other individuals. In context to parents,they need to be
reassured that the school is providing support and correct type of care for them and their
children. In most of the cases, the consent of parent is very important in order to share the data
and information with other professional bodies and furthermore, the school has a legal obligation
to disclose data or information if there is any indication of the young adult and child being at
risk(Rolfe, 2020.)

In context to Adults, who basically work with young people and children will come to
know most of the personal information which comprises of contact details, date of birth and
address and also involves some kind of sensitive information such as family background,
behavioural issues, medical information and much more. In context to adults, it is basically their
responsibility to keep the data or information private or confidential. It is important that they
protect the identity of the child they work with and that of their carers and families. It is very
important and they must do everything in their power to protect the privacy of every adult or
child. It can be only done by keeping their information secure and safe. The information can be
only passes to those who have legitimate and authorised reason to have the data only after they
have permission from their carers and parents. It also comprises of parents signing a consent
form. In case of parents refusing permission then the school would not be able to pass the data
and there is basically a legislation for the purpose to protect the rights and there are severe
consequences for those who breach it (Or, F., Kim, Y., Simms, J. and Austin, S.B., 2019).

and full participation may be affected by the deficit thinking and negative attitudes. Poor access
to the communication aids, physical barriers and lack of confidence in the skills.

From the above report, it can be concluded that communication plays a very important
role in childcare and maintaining and development of professional relationships with adults and
children young people. The report helps in deep understanding of the effective communication
and development of the positive relationships with the adults, young individual and children.
