Communication is one of the most important skills for effective student in higher education as it
contributes in easily sharing range of information from one individual to another without any
misinterpretation. At the same time, it enhance the vocabulary, language, tone and gesture that
has been used by the student while communicate with other. Communication skills are important
because it helped in building and maintaining strong relationship with other individuals
(Popescu, 2022). Collaborating with peers during the module has also helped in developing
effective communication skills as it leads in effective exchange of information on continuous
basis so that the desired task can be completed. The effective communication skills are very
important for every aspect of life. It also plays a significant role in the life of an individual in
terms of personality, working, behaviour, etc. Hence, in short communication skills also involve
active listening to whatever has been said by other individual.
The ways through which communication skills can be developed and improved in the students
can be illustrated are motivating and engaging the students in conversation -The teachers
should engage students in the classroom activities and also motivates and encourage them to take
active participation in the conversations. Likewise, through organising game student can be
engaged to learn new things, build their confidence and motivate them to share their creative and
innovative ideas. It also boosts their confidence of speaking in front of the other people.
Creating a safe and protected ambiance for the students - An atmosphere that allows the
students to express freely and to ask them for the required or the needed help is important for
their academic success and also for the future. Safe and secure environment contribute in
encouraging student to easily share information with their friends and enhance their existing
learning. For example: the Open door policy for the students enables them to talk about anything
or about any topic. Active listening- Actively listening encourage the students to ask more
question in the classroom that is helpful in satisfying their needs and the curiosity. This helps in
knowing the areas in which the student lack and need to be improved for its overall growth and
development. For examples: Through active listening the teacher is able to know about the what
the student feel and want to say. Engaging the students in team work - Doing the group work
and engaging the students in the team work activities help them to make concentrated in
competing with the other students. It will encourage student to actively involved in team through
sharing their respective prespective related to the way a particular task can be achieved in

effective manner. Positive feedback - Feedback is also one of the best possible methods that
help in knowing in getting the fedabck of the student related to what all issue or problem they
encountered. So, that alternative solution can be planned to resolve the issue for fruitful outcome.
Positive feedback motivates and encourages the students to do better communication and the
other activities with the others (Estevão., Lopes and Penela, 2022). At the same time, positive
feedback given by teacher such as said to student that they have make huge progress in current
scenario will motivate them to further learn new skills, capabilities. Allowing the students to
share opinions - In schools or in the classrooms the students are allowed to share their feeling
and their opinions freely as it is necessary for them to build confidence in every field. Teacher
through asking question to student can motivate them to communicate, learn from other and
develop their current skills and knowledge of bright future ahead. Therefore, there are various
ways through which a student can be able to develop the communication skills among student in
higher education
At last it can be summarised that effective communication satisfied all the parties and
also provides them the feeling of accomplishment. It also facilitates reduction in the conflicts at
the workplace and also in day today life. It also decreases the confusion and the
misunderstanding of the concepts between the individuals. It enhance the chance of getting
better employment opportunities as each and every employer wants to have employees that have
good communication skills. Hence, it can be summarised that effective communication skills
help the students to build the bright future and the academic career ahead (Kherbouche, Pison
