Executive Summary
In order to become successful in career and life it is important that the students prepare
themselves from their university level so that they can develop various skills set which are
required for making them employable. It is important that they develop these skills so that they
can become more responsible with their career and their lives and can make efficient decisions
regarding the companies in which they want to work, the career options they have to choose etc.
This helps them in becoming more employable and responsible so that their desired companies
can hire them which can help in their career evolvement and efficient development in life. In
order to prepare for success and responsibility it is important that the person is academically
strong and also has knowledge regarding the use of modern technology, business environment,
knowledge about market etc. There are various skills that can be developed in a student from
their university time like time management, communication skills, problem solving skills etc. so
that they can become more competitive in market so that their recruitment in their desired
companies can become easy.
In this report after analysing the skills that can help me in becoming more employable i
have developed a portfolio which is documents that demonstrates the level of skills that i have
developed during my college years. This portfolio can help me in determining the skills that need
to be enhanced more and the ones which i am good at so that i can effectively analyse my career
options for my personal and professional development. In this portfolio i considered all the
essential skills that can help me in becoming more employable and more competitive in market
so that i can get job in my desired company. Time management is important as it help me in
prioritising all the important projects so that they can be effectively completed on time. Task
management is important so that complex tasks can be managed and effectively completed
within time that can help in project completion. For improving my communication skills which
play an important role in the market i took part in debates, group discussion etc. For improving
my chances of getting selected in company i have made a CV so that my chances of getting
recruited can increase. SWOT analysis can help in myself analysis so that improvements in my
skills can be done that can make me more efficient with my talents. Presentation skills are
important in business so that a group of people can be presented with the idea that can be
understood by them and mutual understanding can be created. I have also included academic
writing that can help me in scoring better marks and become academically stronger. Finally i

included employability skills so that i can make myself recruitable and become successful in my
career and profession.

How and why the mini projects helped in developing employability
Mini projects workshops provide a platform to the students so that they can develop their
skills by participating in these projects that can help them in determining the skills they need to
improve upon so that effective steps can be taken. These projects help the students in evaluating
themselves and their capabilities of conducting a project in an effective manner so that they can
prepare themselves for recruitment and become more employable and competitive in market.
These projects help university students in improving their skills so that they can develop and
grow both personally and professionally which is important in their career growth so that they
can get employed in their desirable companies (Bohari, Hin and Fuad, 2017).
These mini project workshops has helped me in developing various skills like time
management, task management, self analysis through SWOT, communication skills, academic
writing etc. which are important for my overall development. With the help of mini projects i
was able to effectively and efficiently apply my theoretical knowledge and skills practically so
that i could understand their application and the way in which they can help in my actual
personal and professional development. I was able to self evaluate myself so that the weak areas
where i need to focus on can be improved that can help in my overall development. These mini
projects were conducted in my university so that all the students can be made efficient in their
skills and talent so that they can become more employable and the education can be more
fruitfully used in career development of students. Following are the ways that can help in
understanding how and why the mini projects helped me in developing my employability:
 The mini project workshops helped me in practically applying my theoretical knowledge
so that i became more effective with various skills like communication, presentation, time
management, task management etc. which are all important from the perspective of
working in a company.
 These projects also helped me in determining the skills that i need to be more focused on
so that i can become more competitive in market that can help me in being recruited in
my desired company.
 I was also able to determine the way in which CV is to be written, cover letter is to be
drafted and various strategies of job search so that i could get recruited in the company
which i wanted. This also helped me in determining the employability skills that should
be developed that made me more effective in searching for jobs.

 These projects also helped me in becoming more efficient in monitoring my skill so that i
can become highly capable of applying my knowledge effectively in problem solving and
analysis that has helped in my overall development which is important for success.
Appendices
Group formation
Group formation is an important skill that helps in forming an effective team so that the
team members can use their skills and talents in an efficient manner and complete the task for
with the group has been formed on time (García-Peñalvo, 2016). This skill is important in
businesses as this can help in completing various tasks and projects in business by forming a
group having required skills, knowledge and talents so that all the activities can be co0mpleted
efficiently on time. I developed this skill which can help me in being a part of the group where i
can use my skills effectively.
Presentation skills
These skills are related with the ability of delivering effective and engaging presentations
related to a topic of common interest to a variety of audience so that the message of presentation
can clearly reach to the audience and they can understand it in the same manner (Green and
Salkind, 2016). These skills are important in businesses as it help in effectively addressing to an
audience about a topic in an efficient manner so that they can be stimulated towards working
towards achieving the aim for which presentation is given. I developed this skill during the mini
projects which has helped me in becoming more employable as i can deliver the messages
effectively so that the audience can understand the message. This helps in improving the
management of company project so that they can be effectively completed o time.
Employability skills
These skills are those which help a person in becoming more employable so that they can
be recruited in their desired companies and become more efficient than other candidates. These
skills make a person better in executing their roles and responsibilities in business so that the
company goals can be efficiently achieved (Hart, 2018). These skills involve effective
communication skills, problem solving skills, team work, time management, adaptability etc. so
that a person can be efficiently recruited in a company at their desirable post. I have been able to

develop my employability skills through these projects which has helped me in becoming more
competitive in market which is important for my career success.
Workshops
A workshop is a building or a room where work is performed or a seminar or group of
meetings take place so that discussion in a particular field can be done which can help in sharing
knowledge or experience. It can also help in emerging of new ideas and motivating participants
to work towards achieving those ideas that can be beneficial for all in general (Jafarzadeh,
Akbari and Abedin, 2018). I participated in various workshops that helped me in building
knowledge about various topics so that my overall development took place and helped me in
becoming more employable as i was able to gain ideas about various concepts.
Job search strategies
In order to efficiently search for a job as per the academic background and interest of a
person it is important that the skills, knowledge and talents of a person are identified based on
which CV is formed that can help in making job search easier (Lock and Wagner, 2018). Various
ways can be used so that desired jobs can be searched for like using internet where a person can
upload their resume on LinkedIn, Indeed etc. which are various job search platforms that can
help in identifying effective jobs for a person. I made my profile on LinkedIn, Indeed and other
sites so that i could effectively search for my desired job and made my resume more presentable
so that i could be shortlisted by my desired companies.
