Introduction
Leadership and personal skill are the long term and ongoing process. By these skills, an
individual can assess their weakness, skills and qualities and then evaluate them on the
basis of their goals to meet objective and maximize their efficiency. Management and
leadership are considering as an integral part of the organization. The organizational goals
and objectives require the direction of what to do and how to perform the responsibilities
and duties that are aligned with the strategic plans. When organization perform and
execute their duties then its management need to ensure availability of resources, right
people for right job role and a coordination among all inputs and outputs. The personal
development plan help people to done these thing effectively (Adeyemi and Aigbavboa,
2022). This report will include the reflection on the leadership and management skills on
the basis of personal case followed by justification of personal development plan,
explanation about transferring skills by using the relevant theories.
TASK1
Reflection on the management and leadership skill
Management skill of a person revolves around on mainly three things such as technical
skill conceptual and interpersonal skill. As a manger it is essential for me that along with the
leadership and management skill, it is also essential to have technical skill in order to get success
in a work. The communication skill is also has an essential role as individual have communicate
with each other during working. In this case, it is important to have an effective communication
skill to complete a project successfully.
There are various models or theories introduced by the experts to define the management and
leadership skills. These theories include Gibbs model of the reflection, John’s model for the
structured reflection, Kolb’s experimental learning theory and many more (Avant, 2022).
All these models define the reflection of the learning leadership and management skills. In
context of the leadership and management there are some theories which are mentioned below:
Kolb’s experimental learning cycle

This theory was introduced by the David A. Kolb. In this model there are four stages which are
mentioned below:
Concrete experience- At this stage, I am learning various things from the new
experience. There is a re interpretation of existing experience.
Reflective observation- In this, I reflect on new experience in the lights of my existing
knowledge.
Abstract conceptualization- In this phase, reflection gives a rise to my new ideas and a
modification of the existing abstract concept.
Active experimentation- At this stage, newly modified or created gives a rise to the
experimentation (Dang, and et. al., 2022). In this, I am able to apply my ideas to the
world around me in order to see what happens.
With this reflective theory, I have my own selected path, there is no wrong or correct path on
how individuals going through an experimental learning cycle. A person who entered in to an
experimental learning, their learning pattern depends on their preferences. It is influenced by the
level of education, career preference and culture. In management and leaders, organizational
culture is an essential element to develop the people’s learning the learning organizational
facilitate and motivate their employees in order to enhance their skill and knowledge in their
respective filed.
John reflection model
This model of reflection is based on the five questions that are enabling to break down
experience and then reflect process of the outcome of learning. The learning should focus on the
reflection of an outcome (Dzwolak, 2022).
It should align with learner’s career objective. In the learning of management and leadership my
learning always linked with my goals. Reflection is a good source to motivate a person as it is an
effective way to learn the leadership and management skill. The reflective model is very useful
for me as it help me to get knowledge from experience, create capacity to re frame my existing
knowledge, develop my professional skills and improve my practical application continuously.

The personal development plan is considers as a practical tool that help in identifying the
learning requirement, improve the performance and accomplishment. This process is very
helpful for all the professionals (Freeman and By, 2022).
It also supports an individual to organize their educational, personal and career development

Personal plan always motivate the employee to increase their skills as well as if there training is
required to increase knowledge. The employee who working on the personal development plan
should go to the top management and take knowledge and apply on task and making
improvement on him as well as company growth. In a Personal Development plan there are

As an authority or manager in organisation communication skills play a very important or
significant part of role. The communication skill helps to keep the leadership position of the team
and pass the clear message in less word to the team and the team understand the message very
easily and derive the performance. If an employee does not understand the assignments or work
the senior should communicate with him and make him understand. Communication skills also
plays role in conflicts, if there is conflict between the two people with the help of communication
the manger should talk to each other and take action to solve the problem.
Top Management should align with the required and facilitate via providing opportunities. By
the help of communication and mentoring skills will support the performance of the team in the
organisation. This skill should have in top management or in good leader for better result of the
organisation. Also, if a leader has good coaching skills, he can make a high performance by the
employees by giving them proper training and developed their personal skills. Personal
Development is very important for an employee by this he can do work or assignment easily and
achieve goals and increase the company productivity. Time management and communication
skill are the part of Personal Development for an employee. This will used as other training as
well as on the job training. Team management and leadership related skill development related
theoretical knowledge could gain from other trainings. Top management should help to increase
the knowledge and skills to their employees.

In a human lifecycle, communication is an essential daily activity as without
communication nothing can be done on the world. Everyone’s expectation is that people behave
think, response, act, learn, communicate and move just they were made off. Because of the
dissimilarities and blemish of the human nature, nobody could behave or act same as other.

behavior of an individual. These needs include the physiological needs, safety needs, and love or

Motivation is beneficial for the organization, but at the same time it is also very challenging
because of some causes which are mentioned below:

Motivation builds a friendly relationship between employees and management
It leads to a stable workforce that helps them to accomplish their organizational goals.
Challenges
A low self esteem can compromise the organizational view of the success.
Perfectionism can stop the people from moving forwards that lead to failure.
In the absence of clarity, people may become de motivated which not well for the
organization.
Empowerment
Empowerment is a process in which people having power and they can control their own life
which means they do anything with their own choice. In other word it refers to the delegation of
some authority and given responsibility to the employee and involving them in decision making
that they can do anything for the benefit for the organisation. In other empowerment implies
freedom, power, authority, motivation and encourage the people and give rights to the employee
take necessary action for the benefit of the organisation (Merluzzi and Phillips, 2022). This
power given by upper management or authority to their employees in their organisation.
Empowerment is one of the most important tool uses by the organisation for productivity or
skills of the employee. With the empowerment the employee uses their art and skills for the
benefit of the organisation, and they achieve the desired goals easily. The reason behind the
giving employee empowerment is rise in global competition and need to response quickly for the
requirements and adopting changes quickly.

are working together (Sanders and et. al., 2022). The many researchers had made conflict
classification in many ways. One classification is relation conflict between the two employees,
task conflicts and process conflicts. The cause of conflicts in the organisation is roles and
expectation, goal or objective difference, common resources, discrimination. Conflict
management is an art of being able to identify the problems and handle the conflict fairly
between two or more persons. It is the process of decreasing the negative impact in the people
and they work together for the organisation. Established the better conflict management process
and the system will support organisation for follow employee in common direction. For example,
Coca cola company has followed up the whistle bowling policy in the organisation in which the
authority or upper management to speak up any employee for their misbehaviour in the
company, that will help to reduce the conflicts between the employees.

team effectiveness or team concept to enhance the performing of the company. Many times, the
project work team assignment is promoting due to the easy measurement of performance of the
team. Team effectiveness is achieved when the groups of employees have right skills and
knowledge to achieve the desired goals. The main reason of team effectiveness or teamwork is
to achieve the goals or task effectively and efficiently given by the authority. Employees share
responsibility for managing every task and are given by the upper management and supervisor.
In many companies’ manager establish goals, milestones, and performance standards.

learning process. To improve the abilities or weak skill, individual need to make a personal
development plan help a person to identify their strength and weakness and also improve their
employability. It makes enable an individual to track their progress. In leadership and
management, communication is very essential as it facilitate transferring of the ideas and
thoughts to other team members. A manger should have ability to motivate their employees and
should practice an effective team within the organization as it help them to accomplish their
goals effectively and efficiently.
