Introduction
In the present PowerPoint presentation learning will be shown about th
e contribution of development sessions in improving the professional
competence of General manager of Dorchester Luxury Hotel in
London (About Dorchester Hotel. 201). It is lavish and 5 star chain of ho
tel dealing in hospitality products and services. In this presentation,
learning will be shown regarding the assessment of own management
skills of manager. Further, Personal Swot analysis will be provided.

2.1 Assess own management skills performance
Presently, I am working as General manager in Dorchester Luxury hotel
in London. I am responsible for managing both the profit and cost
components of a organization income statement. It have to overlook all
the business function along with routine operations of hotel.
Further, I am responsible for proper planning, delegation, coordination,
staffing, organizing and decision making to acquire desirable revenue
making outcomes for the entity. My main concern is to support my
organization in attaining strategic aims and objectives(Ford, 2014).
I have to check proper coordination and harmonise functions of different
department. Being a general manager I have key responsibility of the
successful execution of the strategic plan. I am also required to maintain
positive work environment, it is my duty to resolve the complaints and
problems faced by employees

Assessment of Own Skills
There are various skills that are required for me to work successfully as
General manager of Dorchester Luxury hotel in London. Such as
Management skills: The management skills will guide me in proper planning,
organizing, staffing controlling and leading.
At present I have strong management skills which help me in making optimum
u se of available resources (Noe, 2010).
Communication Skills: It assist in sharing vision and mission to the employees
with the help of different communication method. It help me in
encouraging employees to achieve goals and objectives of firm.
Listening Skills: By listening the issues of employees, I can solve various issues
related to work etc. i can also know the creative ideas and suggestion
employees want to share for better performance of company. I can thus
maintain their interest and prevent them from leaving the company.

Leadership skills: It can use best leadership style as per the situation
to generate the desired results for business. With the help of
appropriate leadership style, i can encourage members to give
maximum contribution towards attainment of overall goals of
business.
Planning and Organizing: This relates to my ability to using
different types of planning and organizing tools. such as, I have
recently effectively organized a new business plan of organization
(Beck, Knutson and Kim, 2011).
Time management skills: These skills help me in completing allotted
task or project in provided time frame. I can use work chart and
schedules to complete my work on time.
