INTRODUCTION
Teaching plays a vital role in the life of students. It supports there process of learning and
development (Agergaard, 2018). In this report, there is discussion related to the purpose of
resources and their effectiveness in teaching. The principles of resource design and some theories
and models of curriculum design are important part of this report. Along with that, legal
requirements and implications of intellectual property rights and copyright for developing
resources is part of this report. The use of technology in developing the resources is also
discussed in the report. In the last part of this report, there is evaluation related to own strengths
and weakness that will help to develop CPD plan.
MAIN BODY
TASK A
1.1 explain the purpose of resources in teaching and learning.
There is key role of resources in teaching. They facilitate the teacher to make the students
study and learn in effective manner. It is necessary to use the resources that are appropriate for
learning of the students (Alderman, 2021). There is need to work by using all the resources in
proper manner so that the students are able to learn properly. The purpose of resources in
teaching and learning are as follows:
 Accessibility: It helps the teachers to design their resources in such a manner. They
formulate all the strategies that help the learners from different background, learning
styles and abilities to understand effectively. It covers all the students so that they are
able to learn and retain knowledge in effective manner.
 Inclusive: The another purpose is to respect the diversity of students. It helps the students
to learn together and use their full potential. The learning needs of the students can be
fulfilled in proper manner.
1.2 evaluate the effectiveness of specific resources from own specialist area in meeting
individual learning needs
There is need of certain resources that will help a teacher to train the students. Being a
sports teacher there is need of physical exercise equipments, material for physical games for
outdoor activity. They are effective as they enhance the personal experience of the students.

These resources help me to enhance the engagement of the students and let them learn in proper
manner. It is important for me to know about the requirement of the students and then provide
them resources accordingly (Bryan, O'Shea and MacIntyre, 2019). It is important to help them
in doing the exercise in right way and with the help of appropriate resource. This will help them
to enhance their interest and will learn properly.
In order to teach them theory there is need of internet, books, smart board, toddle. It
is necessary to use all these resources in such a manner that their knowledge of theory can be
enhanced. They are able to know more and more about the curriculum. This will keep them
motivated for their studies and enhance their way of learning. It is necessary to teach the students
with best resources and test their knowledge and skills. It will help in overall development of the
students. It is necessary to use the for developing their knowledge and using the same at the time
of practical test as well.
The use of internet is beneficial at today’s time so that bets information is collected and
there are wide areas. At the same time, the weakness is that all the information available on
internet is not right. The use of books is also important as they are kept with the students and
they are able to read them any time. The use of smart boards need skills of handling technology
and all the teachers are not able to use the same in effective manner. It is a new resource and the
students also face problems in the starting.
It is important for me to use the sports equipment in effective manner so that all the
students are able to use them. I prefer inclusive environment to teach the students so that they are
able to learn while they play. There is key role of sports equipment as they help to learn in proper
manner. If safety measures are not taken, then it becomes problematic for the teacher and
students.
2.1 analyse the principles of resource design
There are certain principles that will help in resource design are as follows:
1) Learning styles and needs: VARK style
 Visual learners: These are the learners that are able to learn properly by watching. There
is need of showing them diagrams and pictures so that they are able to learn properly.
 Aural learners: In this style, the learners prefer to learn with the help of audio. There
hearing capability is better than other capabilities (Greenwell, Danzey-Bussell, and

Shonk, 2019). They like to take lectures and then they remember what they have learned
in proper manner.
 Read and write learners: These are the learners, who like to read and write. They are
able to enhance their skills and knowledge by first reading the content and to remember
the same they make notes (Overview of VARK Learning Styles, 2019).
 Kinesthetic learners: These are the learners that are able to enhance their knowledge by
taking experience. The believe in practising.
It is important to know about the learning styles. In sports, most of the learners are
Kinesthetic learners and are able to learn by experience. In order to teach the students of sports,
there is need of evaluating their performance I provide the students such a situation where they
are able to learn from their experience. Being a teacher of sports, giving practical knowledge to
the students is important for me. There is need of providing them all the sports equipment so that
they can practice and learn all the important points. The resources are designed in such a manner
that overall success is attained. In order to enhance the theoretical knowledge, the use of smart
boards and books is done.
2) Equality and diversity principles
All the students must be provided with equal opportunities so that they are able to learn
effectively. It will keep the students motivated to learn and retain the information. All the
students from different background must be valued equally by the teacher. They must be
provided same access to education so that all are able to learn and develop their skills and
knowledge.
2.2 evaluate sources that inform resource development in own specialist area
In order to develop the resources in the field of sport there is need to know about the
curricula. The reference to curricula helps me to design the resources in appropriate manner.
The notes in the lecture are given as per the course details. There are some qualification
standards that are being followed by me so that the students also know about the standards. All
the exercise and games that are part of the standards are used (Jeanes and et.al., 2018). The
teacher needs to know about the specification and use the same in developing the resources. It is
is necessary to assure that proper research is being carried to develop the resources.
There is need of using books so that proper information regarding the resources are
ascertained. The habit of reading is necessary for all the teachers so that they can teach as per

updated curriculum. There is need of using website and online portals in order to plan the best
resources for the students. It is necessary to use the books available in library so that better is
provided to the students. This helps me to prepare best resources for my students that will help
them to learn best as per requirement so that students. The sports are necessary for the students
and their development.
2.3 an analysis of how theories, principles and models of inclusive curriculum design can be
used to inform resource development.
There is use of following models, theories and principles of inclusive curriculum so that
resource development can be done properly.
 Learning and Teaching cycle: The first stage is based on developing the context and
examining the needs of the students. There is need of providing best conditions to the
students as per the requirement. In the first stage the understanding of the student is
checked and the focus in on emphasising their knowledge. In the next stage, there is
examination of features of the students. The basic structure is formulated in the stage.
Afterwards, the student is being informed about the game that is being taught to them
(Kim, Fredline, and Cuskelly, 2018). In the last stage, the students are ready and start
playing by their own. They are able to learn and develop their knowledge related to field.
 There is need of using Maslow need hierarchy in order to provide best to the students.
The first need is basic need that is necessary to fulfil. The second need is safety. The
organisation must follow health and safety act so that the students feels safe. In the next
need the students require socialisation and working together with each other. The next
need is related to esteem in which the students and teachers require respect to carry the
task effectively. In the end, there is self actualisation need in which the students achieves
what they want to attain.

 Process, product and praxis: This theory is based on developing curriculum. It is
believed that body of knowledge in curriculum is transmitted. The students try to archive
the same certain ends that is product. The practical way of doing the curriculum as a
process. They are all combined to form praxis (Parent, Naraine, and Hoye, 2018). The
need of the students is being identified and then they are given the opportunities to
develop.
 4 basic principles of Tyler: There are four principles that are studies under this theory. It
is necessary to learn effectively and developing curriculum. In the first the purpose of
education is stated so the teachers are able to develop resources effectively. Then the next
is to study about the experience so that the learning is facilitated. The next is organisation
and evaluation so that there is proper development of curriculum.

2.4 analyse ways in which resources can be adapted to enable an inclusive approach
There is need to use the resources in effective manner so that the inclusive approach can
be adopted. I have examined that to make the students learn properly there is need to use
enlarged font, colour filters this help them to retain the things they have seen. By making the
content attractive all the students can be engaged properly (Peachey, and.et.al., 2018). Along
with that use of scribes, readers, hearing loops also assist in enhancing the inclusive approach.
There is need to learn in proper manner and involving all the students. The learning styles of all
must be taken care and this will help to enhance their requirements.
There is need of using best resources that will bring inclusiveness in the classroom. The
use of colourful papers is required to attract the students and let them remember the information.
This is beneficial for the students to learn in effective manner. The use of right colour
combination is important to make the presentation effective and attractive. The use of clear and
better language helps the teacher to remember the information for long. I also provide better
learning environment to the students so that they are able to develop their skills and knowledge
regarding sports. The use of updated technology is required to enhance the level of students and
they are able to carry the work in right manner. I keep on modifying the resources as per the
requirement of students.
5.1 evaluate the effectiveness of own design and use of resources to engage and meet the
individual needs of learners in own specialist area
By knowing about the learning style of students, I am able to design the resources in
proper manner. The aim is to teach the students both theory as well as practical experience. The
task is to use all the resources in the way they will satisfy the needs of learners.
It is seen that to teach sports, there is need of practical experience as well. I provide them
all the equipments so that they are able to use them same and learn. First of all, they are provided
by training and shown video that will help them to learn right way of using the equipments. I
also tell them the way and show them by doing myself (Peachey, and et.al., 2018). In the end,
they also practise and learn by their own experience. For enhancing the theoretical knowledge.
Notes in easy language are provided to them and the lectures are also interactive. The proper use
of smart boards is done to enhance their experience of learning.

TASK B
3.1 explain ways in which resources can be classified and stored
It is important to classify the resources and store them properly. There is need to keep
them safe and they must not be accessed by everyone. There is need of keep them safe and easy
to use at the time of requirement. There is need to adopt same principle so that the resources can
be used properly. It is seen that by we use the principle of origin. The resources are kept in order
to their origin (Ratten, 2018). This will help all the teachers to find the resource they required
and use the same. To store the resources, it is necessary to use VLE platforms. The use of virtual
platforms will help to keep them access the resources in right way and right time. It will help
them to access at right time and use the same to work effectively. The access must be restricted
for the external parties so that they are able to keep them safe. It is necessary to keep them safe
and provide access to the internal people that are in requirement of the same. It will help them to
learn in proper manner. The use of resources so that they can be used properly for the
development students.
3.2 review ways of sharing resources with other learning professionals
The resources that are designed in appropriate manner can be shared with other
professionals. There must be standardization of course material that helps them to share the
resources. It is seen that, it helps them to use the resources that are of same standards and can be
used in effective manner. There must be case meetings with the staff so that their requirement
can be understood and the resources can be shared. This will enhance the use of resources and
will facilitate more professionals (Renshaw, and Chow, 2019). The profession must be same and
the use of the resources must be done in proper manner. It is a good system to share the resources
and will assure the development of teachers.
4.1 review legal requirements and responsibilities relating to the development and use of
resources
 The laws and legislation must be followed by the teachers at the time of development and
use of resources.
 There is need to take care of Health and Safety Act, 2004 so that right equipments can
be used by the company. It will the students to learn properly by being safe and secure.

 The use of Data Protection Act, 2018 must also be done so that the data and information
related to the students is not leaked. It is necessary to keep the information safe and
secure and it does not go in hand of others (Richelieu, and Webb, 2021).
 At the same time, it becomes necessary to use Equality Act, 2010 must also followed so
that all the students are provided equal opportunities.
Complying the resources will help them the teachers to develop the right resources that
will contribute to food learning of the students. It is seen that, by using all these laws my
confidence level gets enhanced and I am able to teach the students in effective manner. It is
necessary to assure that all the important legislations are being used for effective development of
resources.
4.2 analyse the implications of intellectual property rights and copyright for the development and
use of resources
There is need to take proper care of intellectual property right as well at the time of
developing and use of the resources. It will help to avoid all the problems and use the resources
in proper manner.
 Copyright design and patent Act, 1988 (CDPA): This will help to keep the data and
legal rights of the owner safe. The teachers must also know about all these right and take
copyright and patent on the resource so that no one else is able to use the same without
their permission.
 Data protection act, 1988: The aim of this act is to provide protection to the information
and data. It is necessary to keep it safe and secure. The major problem of plagiarism can
be solved by keeping the content safe and secure (Swierzy, Wicker, and Breuer, 2018).
The extend of data that can be used must be decided so that there is no problem being
faced.
Complying with all the laws and legislations is necessary for the teachers. All this
facilitates them to develop new resources. There is need to assure that all the work done by the
teacher follow the laws and legislation. This will help them to use the resources in proper
manner.

TASK C
2.5 designed resources, including those that involve new and emerging technologies, to engage
and meet the individual needs of learners in your specialist area
The use of emerging technology will help the teachers to develop the resources in
effective manner. It is important to know about the needs of learners so that they are able to
engage them. The teachers must analyse the situations and requirements of learners and use the
for proper development of resources (Thomson, and.et.al., 2019). It is seen that; I use internet to
develop resources for enhancing the theoretical knowledge of the students. It helps me to
develop the resource and also tell about the important and innovative aspects that will help in
development of resources. The use e-library also facilitates the development of resources. The
online books can be accessed at any time so that the notes and lectures can be written. The e-
books can directly as resource for the students. The use of smart boards is also an example of
emerging technology. It will also facilitate the students to learn by the use of updated
technology. The digitalisation has simplified the process of learning for the students. The
teachers are also able to use the resources in such a manner so that they are able to develop the
resources in proper manner. There is need to make the resources by using all the resources with
the use of new technology. I have analysed that the use of latest and emerging technology is
important to enhance the understanding level of the students.
There is key role of digital resources in teaching learners in today’s time. In Sports the
students are in need of practical learning. At the same time the use of video projectors is
important for them as they help to learn the right way to plating the sport. There is need of
carrying the work with the help of presentation as well. It is required to teach the theory to the
students regarding the sports. Having the knowledge of rules and regulations to play the sports is
also important task for the learners. Being a teacher, I am able to understand that the use of
digital resources makes the students learn in effective manner and engage them towards their
learning. The images and sounds of the players help to enhance the motivation level of the
learners and they are able to carry on the work in effective manner. The use of digital resources
is necessary so that students are able to use the same in effective manner.
