Sustainability refers to the capability of meeting vital human needs and requirements in
the present in an equitable fashion without compromising in anyway the capacity of future
generations to go ahead and meet their needs through the preservation and protection of
natural resources and eco systems. The very notion of sustainability describes conditions
where the use of all natural resources by human beings as required for continuation of life are
in harmony with the ability of nature to replenish such resources. A workplace sustainability
policy involves embracing green or eco friendly practices in the office with the aim of
conserving and preserving the surrounding natural environment and the earth’s resources at
large. The scope of a workplace sustainability policy is one that extends to recycling waste
materials as much as it is possible to do so, making use of recycled products, keeping the
usage of energy low and engaging in the limited use of paper and printed materials (Hughes
et al. 2017).

All Stages of the Work
1.4.1. Management Commitment
The management at the Market World Shopping Center will be entirely committed to
the endeavor of making sure that all the details and aspects of the workplace sustainability
procedure are followed and implemented adequately. Regular updates shall be taken by
members of the management to see whether the sustainability measures are being initiated
and introduced in a timely manner and whether these are being implemented in the manner
desired. If not, immediate measures shall be taken by members of the management to address

the disposal of non toxic wastes. The disposal of water wastes will be through the form of
discharge through sewerage. Both water and solid waste management is something that will
take place on a daily basis so that the environment at the Market World Shopping Center
remains as free from toxic vapors as possible (Ochoa et al. 2018).
1.4.4. Air Emission Management
Air emission management is something that will be ensured at the Market World
Shopping Center through the implementation of a proper system of ventilation. A good and

the use of electric energy to light up the stores and opting for a more environment friendly
approach instead. The solar panels are not only eco friendly in nature but are also cost
effective and easy to install and to setup (Ma 2017).

their shopping in.

and every aspect of the sustainability policy.

The department which is created for the implementation of a workplace sustainability
policy at the Market World Shopping Center will comprise of five members. Each member
will be responsible for the implementation of one or more strategies that form a part of the
overall sustainability policy.

The workplace sustainability policy as drawn up and implemented by the Market
World Shopping Center will be communicated to stakeholders such as investors, customers
and employees of the shopping center over email as well as on the social media pages of the
Market World Shopping Center such as on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Both email as
