1. Performance Target
Three Performance Targets based on strategic objectives that have been discussed in the
Assessment 1 includes the following sets:
a) Analysis of the issues that the organisation is facing in maintaining records: The
present system of the company has become old enough and is no longer being able
to serve The South Dakota Department of Labor, Workers’ Compensation division
with its necessities. As the traditional system of the company is manually driven, it is
proving to be inefficient. To make an analysis of the issues that the organisation is
facing, a separate panel of experts is expected to be formed within the first quarter
of the implementation of the new management information system (Laudon and
Laudon 2015).
b) Identification of the problem areas and implementation of the management
information system: The South Dakota Department of Labor, Workers’
Compensation division is facing a huge crisis in gathering information about the
employees who had been injured one time or the other during their course of job
for a future reference. To counter this situation it is very important to pick and
highlight the problem areas where the company is really lacking behind to cope up
with the flow (Van Der Aalst 2013). Therefore the professional of the management
information system would be contacted by the next six years who will assist the
organisation to detect the problem areas and will set up the infrastructure for the

regulatory check every year to detect the areas where innovative ideas can be
implemented so that the situation of the information system is bettered (Beynon-
Davies 2013). As per the expected plan, this expected to be complemented within
the last three months of the year so that the whole system comes into action from
the very beginning of the following year.
