INTRODUCTION
Personal development cover all the activities of person that improve awareness and
identity, develop potential and talents, build human capital, contribute to realization of
aspirations and dream, and raise quality of life. It is a life long procedure and best way for person
to assess its qualities skills and set goals in order to maximize and realize its potential ability.
The present report clarify own leadership and management skills by using range of model and
justify personal development plan (Kalfa and Taksa, 2015).
Furthermore, it also explains transferable skills and best practices form learning materials
for suggestion. It will justify SWOT analysis and skill audit that define the ability of person who
are starting their business. In this study includes one or more of models of reflection and also
discuss learning style based by theory. Moreover, it will explain the challenges and benefits of
using skills in business.
TASK 1
Reflection on own management and leadership skill with use of range of models.
Personal and professional development skills plays crucial role in order to manage the
learning and development within person (Fletcher, Sharif and Haw, 2017). Thus, professional
development is lifelong process and it aids to have continuous development. I want to make my
career in the field of property business in the future. In order to be effectively, I just started
studying about it. This will help me to have growth in my skill so that overall things can be
carried out effectively. In order to identification of gap in my skill, I will have the use of Gibbs
reflective cycle so that proper evaluation can be undertaken and this is defined as follows-
Gibbs reflective cycle- It is one of popular model for reflection and that helps to carry out the
better evaluation with help of skill analysis. Thus, it aids to think systematically about the phases
of the experience and activity. Thus, its defined in the following manner as-
Description- In order to start business in the field of property, I started studying about it and
trying to take initiative to enhance managerial and leadership skill. To have the depth learning, I
decided to work in group manner. At this, we started to divide the each chapter with framing of
deadline so that all learning can be accomplish on time. I was the leader of that group and need
to manage the all activities as per the deadline. I forgot to communicate about deadlines to two
members of our group. Therefore, they could not have reached to deadline of the assigned

activities. Thus, I analysed that I need to improve my leadership and managerial skill in well
manner so that in future I can hand my property business effectively.
Feelings- At this stage, I identified that what is the major cause that could be set as failure.
Under this, I found that I am not that effective to manage and leading group activities effectively.
Thus, I got quite frustrated. Therefore, I need to focus over managing and leading skill with help
of developing communication. To undertake property business effective I need to be expert in
making communication so me and my team in future can assure to completed the task as per the
given deadline.
Evaluation- It is stated that there are some things that is good about me and it has helped me to
produce good quality of work. In order to make this more effective, I need to focus on
developing my communication skill effectively so that I can achieve the things effectively. Thus,
ineffective communication has affected the learning of two members within our group. Thus, it
has been evaluated that the things didn't go well as it was assumed due my ineffective leading
and managing skills.

Analysis- It is the step that has provided chance to develop my skills with help of better

effectively. I have learnt that communication is one of the greater essence of management. IN
order to develop it, I started memorising the things and work as to create interaction with all
team member who want to enhance their learning in property business. Thus, I also focused over
to develop my leading and managing skills so that I can handle the issues and enhance my and
my team learning skill in the chosen field. I worked as to make one group with inclusive of all
members so that I communicate with all person at a single time.
Conclusion- At this step, I started to make deviation between actual and planned performance. I
looked back and I found that I have improved my communication skills. Thus, this deviation has
given me positive feedback. This learning has encouraged me to do the things with more
focussed approach so that better things and results can be obtained.
Hereby, it can be stated that this reflection model has helped in order to bring
improvement in my all over activities. Thus, to make my learning more effective the skills audit,
SWOT and personal development plan must be framed to have enhancement in leadership and
managerial skill in context of starting business in the field of property business.

motivation, empowerment, team effectiveness and conflict management are the most important
skills which is required for making business successful and grow more than the others in
marketplace.
Supportive communication: In almost every sector, from hospitality to banking and
other industry, effective communication skills are important. It is one of the best style of
communicating that have a particular set of techniques and goals. It is very beneficial skill that
resolve conflict among workers and employer in organization (Siriwardane and Durden, 2014).
This will help in achieve change in condition while preserving, even strengthen the relations
between management and staff. Language barrier, culture and new employees in firm are one of
the barriers that make difficulties in communicating with other. For example, TESCO managers
or leaders using communication skills in workplace for solving the issues around work place

Berlo's S-M-C-R Model is a communication model that divided into four parts: Source,
Message, Channel and Receiver. According to the first stage all communication come from
sources that will be one person, team of people of organization. Social background, culture,

Message is term of information sent by leaders in TESCO to employees in verbal or written way,
source choose language or code for sending message. Channel is the technique or method which

hierarchy of needs is the best motivation theory that enhance performance of workers more than
now. Providing physiological needs, safety and security, belongingness and love is the source of
motivation which develop self esteem and self actualization among staff members in
organization that result in increase profitability and productivity more than others. Company give
employees all the facilities which help in surviving their lives. Physiological need is basic
requirement of candidate who join company and want all the facilities which make them
comfortable in lives. By ensuring about safety of people organization gain individual trust and
make strong relationship with them that help to achieve competitive advantages in business
world. Food, water, homeostasis and breathing are some example of this need.
Empowerment: it refers to measures planned to increase degree of self determination
and autonomy in people. It involves developing strength and confidence to set realistic objectives
and goals and fulfill individual potential. Empowering leadership is beneficial for both TESCO
and its staff that gain profit margin and make business more successful. It is one of the best skills
using by the leaders in company for workers to achieve desired goals and accomplish tasks on
time. It is very beneficial in business growth and help to gain competitive advantages in
marketplace. Lack of experience among leaders is one of the challenges in empowerment in firm
that will impact on overall performance of workers or group of people in organization. The
benefit of having empowerment leaders is that its take one or more responsibilities within
company, but on the other side if person does not have any knowledge and experience who to

effectiveness and help in team building. In term of team effectiveness is capacity of person to
accomplish given tasks and achieve goal or business objectives. It refers to program of getting
employees in TESCO and work together efficiently or effectively (Fletcher, Sharif and Haw,
2017). Team effectiveness is depended on leader skills which they are using to make better group
of people in organization. Leaders will give proper guidance or direction to its workers for
completing tasks on time and provide appropriate knowledge how to work on time frame.
Organizing meetings, use empowerment equally and other activities of leader will help to make
effective team that increase productivity and profitability more than the another. Team
effectiveness brings a lot of benefits for TESCO and support for raise their position in
marketplace. It helps to boost up morale of staff and increase their interest of work. When leader
share work equally by staff of team and task are assign according to its skills and strengths of
each team which results is task are accomplished faster and more efficiently. Lack of diverse

effectiveness in organization.

and skilled team. Forming, norming, performing and storming are the levels of this model that is
inevitable and necessary in order for team growth, find solutions, deliver results and tackle
problems. In forming team learns and meets about challenges and opportunities and agree on
begins to take tasks and goals. Team members motivate other in organization which make
effective team, they tend to behave independently. In second stage refers to team development,
where teams starts to find the best outcome itself and gain trust of each person in company. In
third stage team resolve personality and disagreements clashes results in great spirit and intimacy
of co operation emerges. It is one of the best way that help to create healthy and creative work
environment which increase the ability of staff and improve their skills more than now.
