1STATEMENT OF PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT
Overview
After having worked as an employee at the XYZ company Ltd., my career had
taken a sharp positive turn. I had been promoted from the level of a mere employee to the
position of the supervisor of the team. This had provided me with the opportunity to explore
my knowledge and expand my understanding of the business in a greater means. This
position would also help me to participate in all the commercial party meetings of the
national level, along with other well-known companies. Indeed this had been a very alluring
opportunity for my career and I could have gained a proper knowledge of the commercial
business methods. However the opportunity also presented a great challenge in terms of my
personal development (Fuller and Unwin 2014).
Thus in order to overcome the challenge, a Fellowship plan was essential which
would have been based on my personal development, and it would aim to improve my
communication skills as well as leadership skills (Chen and Huang 2017). This would have
helped me to participate effectively in the international commercial business and the plan
would also help me to realise the opportunities that is presented by the XYZ Company Ltd by
making the best use of the resources provided.
However after involvement in the Fellowship plan, I began to realise that I would not
be able to achieve all the objectives that the supervisor of the XYZ Company Ltd. is expected
to achieve. Thus I had decided to try elsewhere and eventually I was offered a position of the
marketing supervisor in another company, where I was able to achieve my goals.

The Fellowship plan that I had formulated was aimed at achieving the objectives. But
the plan did not have a proper structure which made it difficult to implement. The Fellowship
plan which was decided upon, consisted of my strengths and weaknesses. It also established

experience as a dedicated employee who had expertise in the internal business dealings, but
the weaknesses that were present was that I had no proper knowledge apart from my area of
expertise (Chen and Huang 2019). The opportunities that were present included the effective
chance to improve my career prospective, as well as attaining the executive level position of
the business in XYZ Ltd. However this indeed involve the possible threats which included
the random changes of the customer preferences and henceforth the market scenario. Also
there could be other companies in the market and time constraint in making use of the
resources could be major issue. However, even if the Fellowship Plan was aimed to achieve
the goals of personality development and also the objective of developing as a leading
supervisor in the marketing segment of the XYZ Ltd., , the knowledge of the internal
business matters was not adequate. And thus the fellowship plan demanded changes (Hu and
Kuh 2003).

Gradually I had realised that with the fellowship plan programme, I would not be able
to achieve the objectives that I had planned and was expected to attain in the XYZ Company
Ltd. There were few factors which had led to this realisation. The evaluation of the then
market had led to the findings that the customer preferences were changing at an increasing
rate, to which the company had to re-examine its business strategies and focus on the core
property. This had resulted in the loss of confidence of the company to venture in the
international commercial market. Thus I had felt that my objective to participate in the
international commercial business would be not attained because the company itself was not
confident enough to progress (Rose 2018).

should have been more knowledge about the business approach, about the manner in which
the business is controlled.
Self-learning and awareness
I had been able to gain promotion to the supervisor level with the help from the
managers as well as the colleagues of the XYZ Ltd. These guidance had helped me to gain
the knowledge and the skills of the market and how the business is carried on. This had
eventually helped me to gain the position of marketing supervisor in the other company. the
changes in the Fellowship plan had also helped me to adapt with the changes and take the
challenges in the most positive manner possible.
Key skills and knowledge acquired
The key skills that I had attained included having a proper knowledge of the
technological aspects of the company. I had also attained the proper communication skill that
would have helped me in the market scenario. I was able to learn the leadership skills that
were essential for a supervisor. Accepting and adapting to the challenges and the changes had
