This dissertation presents a comprehensive investigation into the challenges faced by South Asian individuals in the UK in managing their diabetes. The research begins with an introduction that defines key terms, provides background information on the problem, and outlines the research questions, objectives, and justification for the study. A literature review examines the basic understanding of diabetes, factors hindering effective management, and the role of care practitioners in improving outcomes. The methodology chapter details the research approach, data collection methods, inclusion and exclusion criteria, and data analysis techniques. The results chapter presents the findings related to the understanding of diabetes, the barriers to management, and the impact of care practitioners. The discussion chapter analyzes the results in the context of existing literature. The study concludes with recommendations for improving diabetes management among this population. The dissertation highlights the need for culturally sensitive healthcare interventions and increased awareness of diabetes among South Asian communities in the UK.
