TASK
(1) Reflection on group work using teamwork and motivational theories.
Team work
Based on the group presentation about Diana, princess of Wales, I have learned that team
work is essential to achieve goals, and we have accepted that team work can improve
relationship. Knowing the value of teamwork I have managed various difficult situation and
learn new things at workplace culture. While doing this presentation we have learned that team-
mates learn from each other and improves their communication skills and personnel skills. Our
team work effectively learned each other's strengths and improves each other's weaknesses. This
is the best way of building relationship between team members because it will ultimately create
healthy and positive environment (Al-Hoorie and Szabó, 2022). We have also learned that
teamwork can promote strong working and professional relationships with team members, which
is beneficial for organizational goals. Since people who trust and provide support to each other
are more likely to motivate each other, communicate effectively and work as a team.

Team work become unbalance if all the members have similar styles of attitudes and
roles. So, it is necessary to distribute roles and responsibilities on the basis of skills, knowledge,
experience and behaviour to perform team work effectively. If team members have similar
weaknesses, the team as a whole have to face lots of challenges such as lack of communication,

lack of motivation and lack of knowledge and ultimately creates conflicts between team
members. To solve such issues and deal with this situation, each team needs to understand role
and responsibilities so that they can easily develop strengths and manage weaknesses as a team.
Belbin's team roles
During the group presentation, we have successfully implemented and applied Belbin's
team roles model in order to improve team work so that we can complete our task. With the help
of this model, we can make sure that necessary team responsibilities and roles are covered, and
weaknesses and behaviour of each team-mates are addressed. We have learned that team with
full of knowledge, skills and discipline all together or mixed roles perform better than those that
are unbalanced.
According to Belbin's team roles there are three groups named as action oriented, people
oriented and thought oriented. Each of them is associated with interpersonal strengths and
behaviours. By studying and learning this model we have understood the importance of roles so,
one of our team member has divided us on the basis of action oriented roles which includes
shaper, implementer, finisher roles. Based on the behaviour of people in our team we have
received responsibilities of our project. For example- I was the one among my team members
who have received the responsibility of coordinator. The major role of coordinator as per
Belbin's model, is to acts as a chairperson who creates coordination between people in a team
and delegate tasks very effectively. In this way, each and every person is responsible for
particular role to complete the task.

Tuckman model of team development
According to Bruce Tuckman, group development is necessary in order to achieve
success and to improve team work. With the help of this model, one can tackle problems, find
effective solutions and deliver results (Alsabri and et.al., 2022). By learning this model, I have
learned that interpersonal relationships and project activity would enhance the steps of models
such as forming, storming, performing, norming. These stages are necessary for every team in
order to successfully navigate and create group function.
During the presentation, our team meets and learn about the challenges and opportunities
so that we can easily tackle the situation. By implementing this model, my team was motivated
and were very focused on themselves. We were working as mature team, this has created
positive environment because we have created ground rules which has to be followed. By
implementing storming step we have gain each other's trust which is really beneficial for team
work. Every one was respecting each other's opinion and correct their mistakes whenever
necessary. At performing stage, group members in my team focus on achieving common goals,
and they are more knowledgeable about topic.

Content theory-
Maslow hierarchy of Needs
while working on this presentation, I have learned the importance of basic needs and link
between those needs and motivation. I and my team members have successfully understood the
theory of motivation named as Maslow hierarchy of needs, it can be used to improve
productivity and motivation in a team. This theory is an important for people because it is totally
related to individual behaviour. These are basic needs which is necessary for every person so, it
is important to fulfil such wants in order to motivate team-mates (Vatousios and Happonen,
2022). Maslow stated that people must satisfy lower level needs before progressing on to achieve
higher level of needs which is necessary for growth and development.

While studying about motivation theory of Maslow's, I have learned that it is necessary to
fulfil the very first need known as physiological need such as food, air, clothes and others. If
these needs are satisfied the human body can function effectively and optimally. Once basic need
is fulfil people seek to achieve safety needs, the needs for security, because nowadays people

want to feel protected and supported. Such as financial, emotional and well-being of people are
included in it. Every team members want to achieve social needs which is also known as love
and belongingness needs. So, my team has focused on this need because each member refers to
emotional needs where they will feel socially active. We were supporting each other so that task
can be completed easily. Along with this, my team was focusing on providing respect and
gaining trust, this has motivated us to work effectively. At last, each of my team members
seeking personal growth to accomplish task.
McClelland's need theory
while doing task, we have understood the concept of this theory which says that each type
of need corresponds to a specific type of personality who feels encouraged to address that
specific need. By learning this theory, any leader can identify needs of their team members
which may give them the ability to place people in different situation where they can meet their
targets. In affiliation theory, people tend to belong to an effective group and feel respected and
accepted by team members. By adopting this, I feel motivated and improves interpersonal skills
that can help me generate strong and meaningful relationships with my team-mates.
Process theory
Adam's equity theory
Another theory of motivation named as Adam's equity theory is helpful to motivate
people, improve satisfaction and also productivity in a team (Aronson, Reilly and Lynn, 2022).
While working on the presentation, we have learned that if people will feel respected, fair and
equal treatment is maintained within the team then they will work effectively towards their task.
By understanding the importance of this theory, I have learned that people's input (skills,
knowledge, hard work) should balance with their output (feedback, benefits, rewards). For
example- if I am working hard and enthusiasm towards my task then I will expect effective
outputs for my efforts and contribution. With the help of this theory, I and my team-mates was
feeling grateful because it has created strong relationship within team.
Feelings of de-motivation arise, when the people perceive to be treated unequally in the
workplace, so this theory shows the motivation level among people.

(2) Describing Competing values' framework
Competing values' framework is useful in understanding roles of leaders and team
members within teams. This model is made up of leaderships theory and roles which provides a
deep understanding of how a team can work effectively by the proper utilization of different
leadership roles and responsibilities. While working on my task, I understand the importance of
values and competencies that are associated with team performance in policing responsibilities.
The primary purpose of my task is to increase effectiveness with the help of team work and
positive culture. During the presentation, we created a workshop where, together as a team we
mapped the values. Our team used the competing values' framework which is most popular
framework of understanding culture. With the help of this framework, we have improved overall
performance and a source of new ideas. The theory has focused on leadership behaviour and how
that individual behaviour produces competences. While implementing this strategy or method I
have understood the purpose of CVF which shows the importance of competences and how it
produces specific value.
This theory is all about creating positive tension by applying the right combination of
people with different situation in order to produce the types of innovations based upon
requirements. During our presentation, I and my team have learned about culture and its
importance. This framework make me understand about developing and strengthening our

During my task, I have noted that I need to develop some skills that is required to achieve
personal and professional goals such as lack of confidence and technical skills. Both the skills
are really important for completing task and making presentation attractive. I need to focus on
setting some important goals by implementing theories and models in my regular practice. For
technical skills, I need to attend online workshops and read technical articles so that I can make

Adhocracy is highly innovative and flexible team, this type of personality or team
members likes to take risks while doing task and create plan to do things first (Abedelrahim,
2018). They are highly focused and flexible in nature. With the help of this framework, I have

Compete team, when the people try to adapt new challenges by focusing on competition
in order to gain competitive advantages. This type of people seeking to acquire new ideas and
create bonds within the team to achieve goals. Hierarchy is focused, which is run by control, and
here leadership is focused on quality. They worked on long term vision statement for the success
of project. During the task, we have applied clan on the personality of Diana, evaluated that it
can create sense of pride.
We have adopted Clan culture while doing task, because this is beneficial for long term
development and improves collaboration between team members. I have learned that the Family
or Clan type of team are held together by shared vision and objectives such as participation and
succeeding as a team. Here, people share a lot about themselves, share ideas and knowledge,

SMART goals.
During the presentation I and my team-mates have studied a group maintenance role,
one's behaviours are more focused on how the team and its members will achieve its task. The
communicator shows collaborate quadrant such as providing constructive feedback and active
listening to solve issues while doing task and giving them advice so that it will improve bond
between team members. By doing so, we can resolve conflicts and improve communication with
team-mates. The collaborator in the team is goal directed and sees the current project as
important goals, he falls under the quadrant of 'compete'. Challengers in the team will push each
and every person to be more creative and effective in their problem solving and decision-making
process, he falls under the category of 'create' quadrant.
Goal setting as management task
By evaluating the presentation I have learned about SMART Goals which says that the
goals should be clearly stated and perform in a most effective way, along with this it will
describe about the behaviour and action. After that, goals should be measurable so that one can
keep track on continuous progress or results. Relevant says that there is a clear link between the
