The digital business and new technologies uses the new innovations to make the
businesses more valuable in their models, customer experiences and their own capabilities that
will make their main operations more efficient (Baran and Baran, 2022). This report has an
explanation on the reason for deeming the topic with its importance, the ways in which it can be
developed, the technologies utilized in the the topic, technological platforms and software
utilized in the topic, various organisations that uses this technology and the ways in which it is
used as a business tool and its effectiveness.

Reason to deem the topic and its importance
The business value of cloud computing is the providing of the IT services and the
abilities on the internet. The cloud computing delivers various types of services on the internet
that are like data storage, servers, databases, networking and software. The topic “Measuring the
business value of cloud computing” has many importance in the world of business and some of
the benefits are stated below as follows -
Innovation – The businesses use cloud computing for improving performance, lowering
costs and rise agility. It has enabled them to create, innovate and launch new products
and this changes their lifestyle (Dirik, 2022).
Cost effective – The cloud computing can be an appropriate way of approaching the
problem of cost. The employees can save their money in migration.
How the topic has developed
The cloud computing was evolved as it started since 1950s with the distributed systems
that is a combination of many independent systems but every systems were identifies as only one
entity to user. The objective of it was to share resources and utilize them properly. Then came
mainframe computing in 1951 which were so powerful and reliable automations, they have to
maintain the big data like large input output operations. After that arises cluster computing in
1980s and every machines were linked by cluster with a high bandwidth connectivity. Then there
was an introduction of grid computing in 1990s that were kept at various geographical areas
with an internet connection (Duwe, 2022). Then virtualisation made layers over hardware that
makes the user to access various things at a time on the device. Then came web 2.0 that was an

interface in cloud computing that links with the clients. Then service orientation gave low cost,
flexible and evolvable applications. At last the utility computing has service provisioning
strategy for services that gives storage, infrastructure and more.
Explain technology opted in topic and it utilization
The business value of cloud computing has some capabilities that are storage, computing
and databases which are highly valued in the business. There are some examples of processing
cloud computing in the businesses that are data analytics, machine learning and so on . The cloud
computing is used in business as an infrastructure in service, platform in service,storage, data
backups, disaster recovery, it rises the collaboration, testing the new projects made and many
more. The tech companies have more of the utilization of cloud computing for their work to be
more efficient and effective (Genel, 2022).
Describe the cloud computing platforms and their uses in organisations
There are different platforms used in cloud computing that are explained below -
Google App Engine – This platform is used to execute all the web applications that are
available globally with a high performance. There are many activities performed in it
such as job queues, memory caching, scalable data store, messaging, corn tasks and
others.
Amazon Web Services – The Amazon Web Services performs virtual computing,
storage and connecting for accomplishing computer stacks. They are used in storage and
computing on the demand of services (Lempp and Siegfried, 2022).

The cloud computing is used more in any tech companies that have to access their
information virtually, making a flexible and worldwide access for the data in any place. For

security. The cloud computing is gives a big advantage in cost factor as it improves productivity
and flexibility. This is remote and scalable such as their software (Marcos-Pablos, Juanes-
Méndez and García-Peñalvo, 2022). This requires less maintenance, less growth, more secure
and fast cloud applications.
Explain the relationship of digital technology and the cloud computing
The cloud computing is a type of technology that allows the users to go through the
stored files, software and servers with the help of internet connection on their devices. This
technology gives a stored and executed data in an area which is far from the end users. It is the
mechanism that opts the data at any place and executes any operations which are related to the
data. The digital technologies used in the cloud computing are such as virtualisation that runs
many applications and also the operating systems on the similar server (Philip and Gavrilova
Aguilar, 2022). The Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is a technology that brings the cloud
based computing solutions to the companies which are based on demand as per the changing
business requirements. The data is not stored in any physical matter which can help them in
improving their management, streamline and makes the process so flexible with an increased
productivity in a less cost, time and enhances customer experiences for the businesses. This is
how the digital technology is helpful for the management of big data in many companies.
Analyse the old and new theories on business and management structure and practises
The management theories are the concepts and frameworks that are used by the
companies in a guideline, this should be suitable for the people working the organisations and the
culture of the firm. There are different types of theories that are applied by the organisations
which are explained below -
Classical management theory – This is also known as scientific management theory,
this old theory was made by the Frederick Taylor. They have to develop the scientific
management theory for the purpose to study the work performance of the employees.
Then Taylor specified that the companies who are pressurising their employees to work
hard can not obtain the expected results. This doesn't lead to the growth of the
productivity of the companies. They they thought of simplifying their daily work so that
they can improve productivity. This strategy was way too distinct from the ideal work of

businesses (Plesner and Justesen, 2022). Taylor examined that the employees were
satisfied by one main incentive based motivation which was later on altered in a way that
the employees will get more fair salary on the basis of the level of fairness in their tasks.
The classical management theory consequently brought the collaboration of the
employees and employers who can work in a team with an increase in their interests.
System management theory – This theory is a better approach towards the planning and
management of the companies. The system management theory describes that the
companies involve many elements of the work in a proper way that can access the big
systems which operate optimally. As per the theory the the companies can achieve
success that depends on some vital components that are interdependence, synergy and
interrelations among the different subsystems. The companies considers their employees
as the crucial assets. Some more components are important for the working of the
businesses are departments, work groups and the working units. The managers should
work upon the patterns and events in their business so that they can evaluate a suitable
managerial approach and theory. In this manner the managers can coordinate for the
different programs so as to perform within the teams for a greater output rather than
working solely (Villegas-Galaviz, 2022).
Contingency management theory – The contingency management approach defines
that there is no single management approach that can be suitable for the company. In the
other words Fiedler's determine that there is no best way to function, lead and make
decision in a company, so the optimal course of work is relied on the internal and
external situations. The internal and external factors of the company impacts this
approach. So this is examined into three variables which can influence the structure, size,
technology used by them and leadership style adopted by the companies. Fred Fiedler
made this theory who also introduced the traits of the leader which were in relevance to
how effectively they it was implemented by the leaders. This stated that the leader should
be flexible to the environment in which they work and the changing of the environment
must be adopted by them in their working. The contingency theory describes that there is
no requirement of any specific technique for the functioning of the company. The leader
must be fast in evaluating their specific management style which is suitable for their
specific situation applicable in their company. The prior element of the Fiedler's

contingency theory is the less prior co-worker scale. The element is used to know the way
a manager is effective in their work.
Decision making theory – Decision making theory explains the way rational persons
show the attitude when they face risks and uncertainty. This utilizes any ways the rational
persons behave in which there are many changes seen on the practical and theoretical
manner. The decision making impacts the prices and results of the company. This theory
is developed by Simon who tells that there is no single best course of action applicable
and decision (Sermontyte-Baniule and et. al., 2022). The reason behind this is that the
people doesn't have full information so as to achieve the better course of action or
decision. The internal factors also make the ability of a person for problem solving so
complex and such factors are stress and motivation. It is recommended that the people
should execute the objectives and make decisions which have less risks and complexities
which is against the focus on increasing of profits. The decision making theory has three
stages that are intelligence task stage, design task stage and choice task stage.

This report which was based on digital business and new technologies has a conclusion
on the explanation of the importance of the could computing that were innovation and cost
effective, then there is a history on it which is since 1950s from the distributed systems to the
utility computing. Then there is an explanation on the cloud computing with the uses that were
storage, backups and testing in new projects, then the platforms of the technology were Amazon
web services and google search engine. It is examined that cloud computing is most used in tech
firms and the business tool is effective in the way that it secures the big data of the company.
