Discussion Forum - Week 4
The discussion is based on digital transformation as it allowed humans to live better. In
general, ethics refers to the practice of making a principled choice between right and wrong,
in this way ethics are revolving how people should act (South University, 2017).
There are two major ethical principles for digital transformation on which businesses need to
adhere to (South University, 2017). These ethical principles are integrity and accountability.
Integrity principle is important for modern businesses because doing right gives more respect
and pleasure instead of only maximizing profits irrespective of what is wrong and what is
right (Carroll et al., 2018). In this way, businesses need to demonstrate integrity through
being honest as well as showing an uncompromising and consistent adherence to a strong
moral and thereby ethical principle like integrity and accountability (Carroll et al., 2018). On
the other hand, accountability implies an obligation for doing what is right, and fair in a
particular situation. In business, accountability suggests the willingness to accept
responsibility for the consequences of key decisions and business actions (South University,
2017).
In whole, within ethical principles for modern businesses, the first principle of integrity is
regarded as the honesty as well as the truthfulness of one's actions. Besides, the second
principle of accountability includes an obligation of doing more than just orders while
requiring people to follow orders as well.
