Introduction
Social media refers to the means through which employees interact with each other; in
this employee does the creation of the message, share and exchange the message through social
media networks, the staff members use Facebook, Twitter to communicate with each other to
communicate more with the employees (Fusi & Zhang, 2018). The main objective and purpose
of this report is to understand the usage of social media in the workplace for communication.
This topic is selected because majority of the organization use social media to contact their
suppliers, investors and various other stakeholders. The intended audience of the report is the
persons who interested in finding the application of the social media in the organization.
Woolworths is the supermarket in Australia which is founded in the year 1924 and offer
beauty, grocery and various household products to the customers. The company is in the retail
industry which has about 100,000 employees in the organization. The company has 1,024
number of locations and in the year 2019, the revenue of the company was $ 39,568 billion (Jie
& Gengatharen, 2019). The company adopts social media strategy for communication for
collaboration and supporting in increasing engagement among the employees towards the
organization. Therefore, through Facebook Company communicate the important message to all
the employees. The digital communication strategy is increasing widely among the companies;
in this report social media strategy is used to understand their application in the workplace for
communication.

employees in communication that is finding complexity in sharing the knowledge among the
team members. Therefore, social media can support in including more employees due to sharing
more knowledge and message to various stakeholders of the organization.
