Introduction
The method by which a trusted body of digital information is transformed for
establishment and maintaining for long-term repositories for both current and future as in
short term and long term used for historians, scientists, research scholars, and analyst in
general is known as digital curation. The entire process of digital curation goes through
various processes like selection, preservation, maintenance collection and archiving of the
digital assets. Photography is also another hobby that can be transformed into digital curation
in the form of image curation which would mean that all the photographic content would be
identified as uniquely certified to an individual owning the photograph, having taking them
themselves, that is, owning the intellectual property rights. This is done through a certain
level of uniformity created within the images by applying a continuous and consistent filter
that is applied across all the platforms registered only to a certain individual across the entire
platform used. The process of digital curation and how would they be performed would be
described in the following report as a result.
Background of the hobby or idea
Amongst all kinds of hobbies that are noticed amongst all the people, photography is
one of the most common and most attractive hobbies the people tend to take up. As a hobby
photography can be considered as a great hobby for integrating into a person's life. Many feel
that photography might not be a form of art or not deserve the kind of attention and
depreciation than paintings because it is relatively easier than photography. The camera that
captures an image is what a photographer needs to start with the hobby. Camera is digital
device that helps in capturing or storing the moment those human eyes sees forever. However
both camera and the photographs printed are perishable and therefore it can be said that

curation of this digital data should be done. Previously there was no chance that photographs
could be digitally curated because that the cameras that where available previously were not
used to store the photographs within the memory chips in a digital way. They mostly were
clicked into a light sensitive negative role that needed to be developed under dark room only
in the form of people or hard copies. Since now cameras have digitised themselves, there is
the scope that these photographs can be digitally curated to be stored forever. Therefore
taking up a hobby like photography and the process of digital curating the photographs shall
be discussed as a part of this report as below.
Types of infrastructure needed
The first and foremost process of having a digital curation setup for the personalized
photography content would require an infrastructure for curating the entire photography
content. The photography content can be regarded as data for this particular case. While
digital curation and data curation are different entities, it can be regarded that the data within
the photographs would be curated with the help of digitisation and thus the photographic
contents can be considered to be called as data. Since the photographic content is entirely
personal collection there should be a proper infrastructure that would reflect the curated
photographs about the individuality of the photographer. As for example, the tools that would
be used would be consistent for all the photographs that would be curated and would have an
individual filter added along with a watermark for all the photographs. Therefore these
curated and digitised photographs would be available online with the help of these tools only
after the watermark is present at the distinct corner of the photograph representing the
individual photographer and his or her work.
Following would be a set of preliminary infrastructure that would make use of various
artefacts, processes and tools to provide the guidance of the digital curation process of

photographs. Slightly different to other forms of environment where information quality was
enforced by the application of restrictive permission mechanism, the following infrastructure
of storing the photographs shall be done by the individual in the form of digital curation
websites. Pinterest can be utilised as a tool to successfully make use of digital curation for
photographs and maintain their individual it at the same time.
Pinterest editor (tool): this is a website provided by Pinterest that allows the user to
easily edit, publish and curate the digitally created photographs through the soft copies with
the utilisation of mark-up editors. The website also provides watermarks on the photographs
as developed by the individuals via other digital applications like Photoshop.
Pin Curation (tool): one of the strongest strategies that Pinterest has utilise within
their business and also helped digital curating is known as Pin Curation. The images are
combined to create an engaging in effective content for reaching out the audience for a
particular photographer in this section. This can also be considered as a tool it to get through
the fundamentals of pin curation and how while storing the photographs; the photographer
can also showcase their items to a customer or a person who is definitely interested in their
work.
Digital Cameras (tool): From analogue, cameras have now become digital that helps
in the process of digitally curating the photographs taken through them. The transfer of the
soft copies through the cameras to a device connecting to the internet is extremely easy, since
sometimes they are conducted through physical cables and other methods of Wi-Fi
connection and Bluetooth sharing is also allowed through the latest digital camera models.
These help an individual to easily transfer the soft copies of the photographs taken to the

Management of the development, implementation, and maintenance of the
archives to be planned
The archives that would be created would be under a watch list for curating all the
digital information which in this case is the photographs that I am choosing to publish on
Pinterest. It is a document and photographs centric access of information, but it would not be
available unless the person trying to on my photograph has my permission. In this way the
digital curation of my photographs would be protected under the individual intellectual
property right and at the same time I would be able to showcase my work while utilising it for
my business expansions. Therefore the form of digital curation would be implemented and
the archives would be available only to me. This way the photographs would be digitally
curated but only the ones that I would choose to publish for the audience would be following
my corporate copyright orders.
Intention for making the collection accessible and its items to be managed in
storage, retrieved, and preserved
The photography that I am interested in mostly belongs in the zone of nature
photography and wildlife photography as well. I have always focused on enhancing the
beauty of nature through my camera since nowadays people tend to move away from the
nature in the daily hustle-bustle. Even that I have noticed people moving away from nature
and removing nature from the face of the earth by indulging into making concrete jungles
instead of the real ones.
My personal goal is to make sure that all the photographs that I take would remind
them of the beauty of nature once there has been more artificial concrete jungle then the
natural ones. This is why I have selected to go on a social media network like Pinterest and

curate my photographs digitally. The people are mostly indulged into the social media
networks and as this would be a perfect planning to make sure that my target audience is
viewing through my creations even after many years of my existence. in the same way
through the social media network of Pinterest my collection would be accessible and the
items would be manage with the help of my account to store, retrieve and preserve. The
watermark that I would like to use on every photograph that I publish through the website and
curate further would be copyrighted so that there is no infringement of my right over the
intellectual property belonging to me.
Format standards appropriate for preservation
For this purpose I would choose an appropriate form of reservation through a
particular filter that I would use precisely in all of my works along with the particular
standard of photography quality and my watermark at the bottom right corner or bottom left
corner of every photograph I publish.
Documentation of required reformatting
The documentation of the required reformatting would be done to preserve the
collections and offer a broad public access only two some selected photographs that would be
copyrighted under my intellectual property rights. All the documentation to allow a person
for going through my collection and trying to on any of them would follow the basic
procedures all under the intellectual property rights. The integrated preservation strategy for
the collection materials would also be developed through the documentation processes.

Behind the making of the decisions I would like to acknowledge that digital media has
helped me find all the relevant information for curating my personal collection of
photographs and even have a starting to my business through my hobby as well. The social
media platform and their ability to develop a hobby into a particular zone of business are also
to be acknowledged behind making this particular curation process possible. Therefore I
would like to acknowledge that all my hobbies and the urge to transform them into my career
is through the world of digital media and the provisions they are currently providing the
general social media users.
Ownership of the right to these materials
The ownership of the right to the materials would only belong to me and my family
after me. Any person who is found to be having an unauthorised access over these materials
would be prosecuted according to the intellectual property rights of the country that I belong
to and also combining with the lawsuits that would be charged against the person according
to the country or legislation under which the person belongs to.
Conclusion
In conclusion it can be said that my personal hobby of photography should be
digitally curated to make sure that the last forever and for this the social media network of
Pinterest is selected. The above report describes my hobby and what have made me interested
in pursuing it. Along with this the collection of photography the context and the value of the
collections to me and others and the world at large as appropriate has been described along
with the description of the collection in many ways as seen appropriate for the planning of the

preservation. in the next step the collection is a priest carefully by selecting a subset of

items that had to be managed for storing comma retrieving and preserving my collection.
