Introduction
A graphic can be described as a medium to present an object visually or through an image.
Therefore, computer graphics are considered as simple images which displayed on a computer
screen. Graphics are often created in contrast with text, which includes letters and numbers. The
images are easier to interpret than the long texts. So, sharing the message with the target
audience becomes easier with those graphical works. The images also grab the attention of the
viewers easily. As an effect, use of graphics is also increasing due to the multiple benefits.
Evolution of Computer Graphics
Computer graphics are either two or three-dimensional. Computers in the early age were able to
support2D monochrome graphics only. It means those graphics were black and white. In some
cases, the black and green graphics were also found, depending on the type of monitor. With
time, advanced computers were available. These systems began to support images with multiple
colors. First advanced machines supported 16 or 256 colors only. In recent years, highly
advanced computers are available. Most of the modern computers can support millions of colors
in graphics.
The 2D graphics can further be categorized in two types-- vector and raster.
Vector graphics are created using paths, which typically are shapes, lines, letters, and other
scalable objects. These type of graphics are used for designing signs, logos, and other types of
drawings. vector graphics are highly scalable. They can be enlarged without affecting the quality.
The Rater graphics are usually used in Web graphics, digital photos and icons. Raster graphics
are created using pixel grids. Each of the pixels can be of different colors.

3D graphics became popular in 1990s with emergence of 3D rendering software such as CAD as
well as 3D Animation Programs. By 2000, the 3D graphics started being used in video games.
The computers of that age had higher processing power. So, these systems were able to support
the advanced graphics. The computers of the recent years are available with 3D video cards. So,
handling the 3D image processing related works becomes easier. With the higher processing
power, the modern computers are able to support advanced 3D applications and games.
