Introduction:
The report aims at providing an insight into the advanced digital marketing trends for a
hairdressing boutique from the perspective of digital marketing consultant. The report primarily
focuses on the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented
Reality (AR). The report also critically assess the benefits of VR and evaluates its early adoption
for the business.
1. Benefits of Hairdressing Boutique from Understanding and Adopting AI, VR and AR
Trends
Artificial Intelligence (AI), also known machine intelligence, is mostly demonstrated by
the machines in comparison to natural intelligence portrayed by the humans and the animals
(Makridakis 2017). Certain activities that computers integrated with the artificial intelligence can
perform includes learning, speech recognition, planning and problem solving.
Thus, the owner of the hairdresser boutique can apply the speech recognition aspect of
artificial intelligence trends to book an appointment without even making the clients feel that
they were not talking to actual human beings.
Virtual reality (VR), on the other hand, represents simulated experience that is either
similar or totally different from real world (Earnshaw 2014). Its applications primarily focuses
on either entertainment or the educational purpose.
Hence, the boutique owner can adopt VR trends by installing software and make the
clients see through chosen hair style before the hairdresser can even start to work on it to realize
the effect. This not only can enhance customer satisfaction but makes waiting time increasingly
pleasant.

Augmented reality (AR) represents an interactive experience within the real-world
scenario where objects residing within real world is mostly improved by the perpetual
information generated by computer across various sensory modalities that includes auditory,
visual, olfactory, somatosensory and haptic(Dunleavy and Dede 2014).
The adoption of augmented reality trends by the boutique owner will enable the clients
to check their hair color and the impact of the different shade of highlights even before
application. It can also give the clients a feeling of virtual hair cutting thereby helping them in
trying newer hairstyles.
2. Critical Assessment of Benefits of VR on particular brand and Evaluate of its Realistic
Nature to become early adopter within Limited Budget.
It has been found that certain benefits of the VR adoption can bring in the following
benefits for the London based boutique (Kambatla et al. 2014):
It will facilitate in making an appropriate choice in not only picking a hair color but also
a hairstyle
It will enable in seeing the impact before actual coloring or cutting takes place
It will help in customizing the hair care routine for answering the needs related to hair.
Help in boosting the satisfaction of the clients
However, becoming an early adopter seems quite realistic given her limited budget
independent business due to the presence of available training courses for hairdressing through
VR technology. These courses are meant particularly for those people who have a small budget
have no free time and lives far off from the places where the courses takes place.

Conclusion:
On a concluding note, it can be said that, although modern technologies are not
completely advanced they act as automatic robots for working in the hairdressing salons. It is
only the actual hairdresser who can cut, style and color the hair irrespective of any conditions.
Digital solution can only improve and streamline work of the hairdresser.
