About the Company:
Jonkers Rare Book Store by Christiaan Jonkers is one of the most renowned book store
for the collection of the rare twentieth century literary works. The business had developed
healthy habits of buying best-copies of the books instead of their half-priced, compromised
versions of them (Gruschka et al. 2018). As the business continues blooming, consultants are
hired in order to check the business’ compatibility with General Data Protection Regulation
(GDPR), United Kingdom. The report discusses about the key features of GDPR, along with
how it can affect the international-marketing process of the business.
Key features of GDPR:
In order to implement GDPR in a system, the following elements have to be considered
in the first place:
Individual’s right: The right of an individual on the data they are providing as an input to
the system (Murphy 2018).
Right to be kept informed: Any sort of changes are done to the data of an individual must
be informed to that person immediately. According to GDPR clients, customers and
employees have all the right to decide what happens to their data.
Right to erase data on demand: The data to the company or the system has to be erased
permanently on demand of and individual.
Requirement of the data protection officer or DPO: For the process of monitoring the
compliance of the GDPR policy, DPO has to be employed by the company. The operations
and controls of the GDPR stays with the DPO.

Obligations on the processing of the data: The data processor is responsible for the
implementation of the organizational and technical measures for the company.
Assessment and response: In case of breach in the system, a response team must be
prepared all the time. This is for the protection of the data (Lee and Pickering 2016).
Evaluation:
The business is global, which is done via internet. The protection of the data is very
important when internet technologies are in use. With the legislation of the GDPR in the
business, Jonkers will be benefited. This is because, as much as business is considered,
customers and clients are the primary stakeholders for the organization. Thereby keeping their
data safe helps in developing the customer satisfaction. The other elements of the GDPR which
includes rights to the customers, right of erasing the data and the other helps in increasing the
loyalty of the customer towards the company (Townend 2017). With the implementation of the
GDPR, the relationship of the company with the customer increases considerably.
Competitive Advantages of GDPR on the company:
With the improved data protection regulation in the company, the sensitive data of the
customer is expected to stay safe. With the right to erase the data or modify data as per the
requirement of an individual helps in growth of trust in the customer in comparison to the other
organization with similar business operations. With the customers in control of their information,
the competitive advantages increases.
Many people consider that implementation of the GDPR is an obstacle in the operations
of a system as they are not experienced with its functionalities. All though with the
implementation of the GDPR can save a company from 4% fine on global turnover. 60% of the

companies worldwide are completely unaware of the policies and regulation of GDPR, thus by
