Report
AI Summary
This report examines the influence of Intelligent Personal Assistants (IPAs) on the construction sector, highlighting their role in enhancing safety, streamlining administrative tasks, providing AI-driven advice, and integrating AI within building structures. It discusses how AI-powered autonomous equipment can optimize construction processes and assist in project planning through 3D mapping and blueprint creation. The report also addresses the potential impacts of IPAs, including safety alerts, efficient energy use via sensors, and the convergence of IoT and AI. Furthermore, it incorporates Lawrence Lessig’s regulatory framework, considering law, technology costs, architectural constraints, and ethical privacy concerns. A process model diagram illustrates the shift from manual equipment servicing to an IoT-enabled system. The report concludes with a video script emphasizing the benefits of IPAs in construction, from employee guidance to improved safety and smartness, suggesting limitless potential for transforming the industry.

Research:
Intelligent personal assistant can be defined as the assistance which is associated with
exhibiting the own intelligence by making use of algorithms in order to solve the problems.
Making use of robotics and other intelligent devices the construction managers are capable of
utilizing the intelligent machines which are associated with performing routine tasks which are
previously done by human beings. Additionally the AI are also capable of collate and organize
the information for the engineers as well in order to use then within the project as well as in the
designing process. The process by which the artificial intelligence is being used in the
construction industry can be classified into four different key areas. This four segments mainly
includes the “use of equipment’s”, “The importance of administrative roles”, “Artificial
intelligence advice”, and “The use of artificial intelligence inside a structure”. The construction
plans can become successful whenever an AI is successfully used. The various AI include the
Autonomous equipment’s which are capable of navigating the whole process without any type of
human involvement. At the planning stage of a project the AI assistant is generally associated
with serving a construction which has been proposed along with the gathering of the enough
information for the creation of 3D maps or blueprints and construction plans.
Brainstorming:
The potential impacts that the Intelligent personal assistant is having over the construction
industry has been discussed below:
1. Artificial intelligence are associated with alerts to the personnel’s who are associated
with safety and various processes of the project. Whenever a situation arises then the

assistance would be associated with sending an alert of delay or safety to the respective
professionals who are in charge of the respective field.
2. Safety sensors are used for the using the energy in an efficient way. This sensors are
associated with automating the jobsites in order to make the jobsites safer. Various
sensors are used like the Spot-r Identify the location of the workers and provides alerts
whenever a worker slips or falls.
3. The Intelligent personal assistant has been used in other fields as well which helps in
working in an efficient way along with helping them in ensuring the safety of the workers
as well. Various other fields like the medical field, industrial fields and many other
industries has been associated with helping them a lot.
4. Internet of things along with the artificial intelligence has a very strong impact over the
construction industry.
Regulation & Ethics:
Lawrence Lessig’s Regulation
Law is an enabling factor.
The price of the Technology is constraint.
The architecture of technology is complex and hence constraint.
Privacy issue is an ethical constraint.

The AS IS process is used for displaying the current procedures of the system of the
construction industry. The process of equipment servicing and replacement is displayed in the
process. In the current system the equipment checking and replacement is done manually. In this
system the equipment is checked manually by the staffs of the organization and they manually
check the equipment if it is okay or not. If the equipment is okay the staffs moves forward to the
next equipment and checks it. The staffs then check if the equipment needs replacement or not. If
the equipment needs replacement the staffs orders a replacement for the equipment and the
replaces the old equipment with the new. After all the all the procedures are completed the staffs
then moves to the next equipment. After all the issuers with all the equipment are sorted the
process of the system ends.

In the current process an IOT devices is collaborated so that the system of the
organization that is in place. The equipment is serviced and replaced in the new process and a
sensor is added to the equipment and sensor readings are recorded into the information system of
the organization and the results are stored in form of notification for the staffs to read. In addition
to this, the information system also provides the notification about the status of the equipment
and the staffs takes his action accordingly. This system implementation would benefit the overall
procedures of the organization.
