The aspect of research is considered as a process of study the things in a systematic
manner that facilitates in entailing the accumulation of the information regarding any stream of
study. This is considered as a creative as well as systematic work that is undertaken in order to
enhance the base of knowledge in respect to any subject. The process of research includes
collection and analysation of the information in a systematic way regarding any stream of study.
Such process consists of different stages and the key stages within the process involves
accumulation, arranging and evaluating the information or the data for the purpose of increasing
the level of knowledge or getting effective understanding regarding the issues or the topics. It is
considered as a review for describing, predicting, explaining, controlling as well as monitoring
the criteria that has been observed. The process of research includes both quantitative and the
qualitative approach for the procedure of collecting the information and the inductive as well as
deductive approach for analysing the information. This is very significant for every field in order
to identify the data regarding the products as well as services. The concept of research then in
turn facilitates in increasing the performance of business in a favourable and direct way. There
are a large number of reasons for conducting the research that will assist an organisation in
recognising the new and potential market share, understanding the current customers, setting
pragmatic objectives along with the development of the productive strategies of the marketing

The Rusell approach facilitates in the process of accumulating and analysing both quantitative
and qualitative data in a systematic manner. This approach provide assistance to an individual in
achieving reliable and valid outcomes regarding the particular field of study. Quantitative
method under Rusell approach consists of different types of methodologies that inlcude

positivism, deductive and many more. Such methodologies help the researcher in meeting
specific objectives and goals of the study in an effective manner. Qualitative method under the
Rusell approach consists of several methodologies which involves interpretivism, inductive, etc.
Such approaches are successful methodologies and provide assistance to an investigator in
achieving the common objectives and targets of the topic or study.
DIKW Pyramid
This kind of pyramid depicts the relationship among the knowledge, data, information as
well as wisdom. Such elements are considered as the key steps within the pyramid of DIKW and
facilitates in the process of development of the appropriate knowledge regarding the topic or
subject. It is considered as a class of model that is used in the process of demonstrating the
purported functional as well as structural relationship among its key elements. Primarily the
information regarding any topic or subject is expressed in relation to the data and wisdom in
respect of knowledge. Hence, it is a successful, effective and a useful model in order to define
the data and information about a particular subject or a field.
Data collection, use and process of DIKW Pyramid

Use of DIKW Pyramid
This pyramid is mainly used for recognising the continuum of the CDS requirements and
there are also some other effective uses of DIKW Pyramid and these are facilitating the
information capture, meeting the requirements of the information, guiding the process of
decision-making on the basis of knowledge and many more.

There are various steps involved in the process of DIKW Pyramid and these steps are
discussed as below:
Data: This is the first step in the pyramid of DIKW and at this stage facilitates in collecting

within the survey and the highest academic level of 19 respondents is evaluated as 2 which is
medium. The highest academic level of 13 respondents out of 37 within survey is 3 which is also
considered as medium and the highest academic level of 2 respondents is 4 which is also
medium. There are 2 respondents who had highest academic level of 5 which is high means they

1 respondent has its highest academic level of 6 and grid score is 4.15 which is medium. Hence,
above given table as well as graph has appropriate data about grid score of students. Grit scale
helps in measuring the extent in which a person is being capable for maintaining interest,
persevere and focussing on achieving long-term objectives.
There are different stages which are considered as useful and effective in converting data
into information and these include collection of useful data, using analytical tools, getting data
accuracy, converting data into information, taking well informed decisions with information, etc.

The concept of Grit Score facilitates in ascertaining the extent to which a person has

It is clear from the above presented grit score of both i.e. class and school that students of
class have high amount of focus and interest towards their goals. This is so because higher level
of grit score depicts the higher nature of focus and interest among the personnel towards the
achievement of their both long and short term goals. The basic reason due to which class
students having higher level of grit score from the overall number of number students at school is
higher level of their knowledge. Class students are having high level of interpersonal
competencies and determinant towards their goals. This quality helps them to be focus and
interested towards education that differentiate them from other students of school.
In respect to the survey regarding school, first 20 respondents getting 2 points regarding
their academic level along with the grit score of 3.75 that ultimately falls under the range of
average. For next 10 respondents the grit score is 3.5 while, in last, the two groups of 4
respondents having the grit score of 3.7 and 3.99 respectively. All of these falls under the
category of average that depicts the low level of focus and interest towards achievement of
personal goals.
In respect to the survey regarding class, first 19 respondents having 2 points only for their
academic level along with grit score of 4. This clearly depicts the point that focus and interest of
class students is higher as compared to other classes. They have efficient amount of knowledge
for covering different academicals topic. Next 13 respondents having the grit score of 4.2.
Afterwards, two group of 2 respondents having the grit score of 3.7 and 4.7. This clearly shows
that the focus and interest of class students is higher than overall school students. They have

higher level of focus and interest that help them to effectively achieve their personal goals along
with grit score in comparison to others.

From above explanation of the report, it has been concluded from above given
information that the grit score of the class students is higher in comparison to the students of the
overall school. This shoes that the students of the class have great amount of concentration as
well as interest towards the goals and objectives. This has also determined from the point of the
comparison that there is a requirement for the application of effective techniques as well as
strategies in order to improve the whole competencies of all the students of the school. The key
reason behind greater level of concentration as well as interest among the students of class is
knowledge and learning capabilities. Thee have effective capabilities which permit them in
understanding needs in simple way. This has also determined that grit score of an effective tool
to measure interest and focus among the students of school. It not only concentrates over one
factor for comparison but also focuses on all differentiated factors such as interest, focus and
persevere. It helps in comparing performance of all individuals against their capabilities to
achieve self objectives and goals. Highest grit score shows greater level of interest and focus
among personal achievement of goals. It has recommended to school that it has to concentrate
over application of techniques such as training and development as well as appraisal for
ascertaining the reasons of gap. Also, this has provided an opportunity to develop techniques
which will facilitate in improving overall performance. It will surely facilitatethe school in
improving grit score of its students as well as their interest and focus towards objectives and
goals.
