INTRODUCTION
Digital skills involves the ability and knowledge of a person to determine information,
requires from digital technology sources. It is an ability of individual to find, utilize, evaluate,
create and share content applying information technologies. Along with this, primary and
secondary are consider main type of research method. Primary data introduces as information
gathered via first-hand research. For example, Questionnaire, surveys and focus group
discussions. Under, secondary data, it refers as an information which has been gathered in the
previous by someone else. For example, newspaper articles, company reports and researching the
internet. Main aim of this report is to enhance digital skills of an individual within the workplace.
This report is based on how to write a professional CV, benefits, feelings, evaluation and its
analysis.
TASK
Digital skill is important and essential part for student because it will help them in
enhancing its knowledge and ability about specific subject. Preparation of CV will also help a
student to improve their skills related to MS-Word, MS-Excel etc. All these skill will support an
individual to achieve better outcomes within given time period. Along with this, in order to
enhance digital skills, preparation of professional CV play vital role. During preparation of this
CV, an individual automatically enhance its knowledge and ability about how to work in MS-
Word, ME-Excel. There are different importance of having a digital skills such as it will help a
student to communicate all information in proper manner with their supervisors.
Gibbs reflective model: It is an essential model which will help an individual to define
their overall experience about the subject. This, model includes different stages which are
determine as under:

Description
Digital Skills are essential for gaining appropriate higher education. Furthermore, it is
essential that these skills are consistently developed in relation to excel professionally and in the
workplace. To attain this, I was required to develop a Curriculum Vitae (CV) in relation to
appropriately enhance my digital skills. To develop a CV, I worked using various software such
as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. The aim of using these software was to be digitally
sound and increase these skills.
Feelings
During the start of this module, I was quite under confident regarding several aspects as I
was not appropriately affiliated with use of digital technology. However, as I progressed through
the module, I learnt about several aspects in relation to digital technology, which boosted my
confidence and optimism related to use of digital technology and develop relevant and
unnecessary skills.

Evaluation
Throughout this module, the most favourable aspect was regarding use of Microsoft
Word. It did not take much time for me to get used to several aspects, shortcuts and appropriate
formatting necessary for developing a CV. It enhanced my skills in relation to drafting a
professional CV and presenting my information formally, using extensive features of the
software. However, one challenging aspect was using MS Excel. The software requires advanced
digital skills to be used to work upon the same. Various formulas along with tabular presentation
was very much challenging and complex for me.
Analysis
Through this module, I realised the importance of possessing digital skills and how
important is knowledge and understanding regarding digital technology is for developing an
effective professional career. I could have undergone several seminars to learn how to make a
CV and could have approached my tutors for appropriate feedbacks. This would have helped me
in working more effectively in the module.
Conclusion
In my opinion, digital technology is very important to be possessed by each individual
looking to develop a sound professional career. With this module, I developed several skills in
relation to using digital technology such as precision, several features, presentation, etc.
However, after the module I feel confident in using digital technology and the developed skills
could provide me with ease in my professional career ahead.
Action Plan
If I encounter such module in the future, where digital skills are required to be developed,
I would undergo effective training sessions for the same and would take assistance of my fellow
colleagues and tutors in development of these skills in a more productive manner.
Benefits of a CV
There are several benefits which are associated with development of a sound CV. The
most important benefit of development of CV is that it helps individual in presenting all the
personal as well as professional information in a constructive manner as well as with appropriate
presentation. Furthermore, it is important in a workplace as it helps the reader in gaining an

insight about the individual which further, could develop their interest in relation with
development of a positive perception of individuals in a professional context.
Research Methodology: It introduces as an effective process used by researcher to gather
appropriate and relevant information about the subject. In this, different methods used by
researcher, some are determine as under:
Research sampling:
For selecting sample size, there are basically two methods such as probability and non-
probability. Probability sampling introduces as an effective type of sampling techniques, in
which subjects of population acquire an equal chance to be chosen as a representative sample.
On the other hand, non-probability sampling is another important method, in which individual
from the total population will be chosen as a sample. Therefore, those type of sampling are
essential, but in order to analysis importance of digital technology within workplace, random
sampling will be taken into consideration. On of the main reason behind selecting this method as
it is easy to conduct, high probability of attaining a representative sample and it meets
assumptions of many statistical procedures. Along with this, 40 co-workers as a respondents will
be selected for identifying significance of digital technology within workplace.
Data Collection:
For collecting accurate information or data about the importance of digital technology
within workplace, there are two types of research methods such as primary and secondary.
Primary research is identified as an effective methodology applied by researcher to gather
information directly, rather than relaying on information gathered from past done study. On the
other side, under secondary research, it involves the entire summary, collation and synthesis of
existing study.
Primary Research: It is a new type of research or study, carried out to answer particular
problems or questions. It can consist survey, interviews or questionnaire with individual as well
as small group also. There are different sources to collect primary information, including,
Experiment results, statistical data, legal documents, eyewitness accounts, surveys, interviews
and questionnaire. Beside this, questionnaire is consider best way for analysing response from
respondents about the study.

on business organisations. On the other hand only 10 respondents as mentioned that, they do not

media and advertisements. On the other hand the 10 respondents out of 40 has mentioned that
social networks helps in building up the knowledge related to digital Technologies. Translate,
friends and family could be considered as one of another crucial factor which can be used for
collecting data for improving the knowledge related to digital intelligence.

divided equally. Graph shows that then respondents has given the information that they are good
at computer literacy,, 10 out of 40 respondents as mentioned that they a r having acceptable

has mentioned that they are actors age of of exceptional where researcher may directly collect

a major challenge. Away with this, on the second position is access internet which shows
results as 10 and awareness is also there respondents 10.

Secondary Research: It is another type of research which is also used by investigator to
accumulate in-depth and appropriate information related to the subject. There are different
sources of secondary data such as literature reviews, opinion pieces, television broadcasts, books,
and documentaries. All these are essential sources for accumulating appropriate and in-depth
information or data about the subject.
CONCLUSION
From the above given information, it has been concluded that digital skills is more
essential and important for an individual. It will support a person to enhance their productivity
within given time duration. Therefore, digital skills and market research support an individual to
identify different ways to improve skills and attain better results easily.
