INTRODUCTION
Digital solutions at workplace can help the business to expand rapidly and efficient. The
boundaries of business have bee removed by using digital technology such as social networks
and video conferencing for expansion of business. The base of customer can be widened due to
sung this technology at workplace (Polášek, Bureš and Šimon, 2015). Today every business
make sue of this technology in order to provide innovative and creative products and services for
the customers.
This report will present the general trends and innovations in digital technology
applications. The importance of cloud-computing will be discussed in context for business. The
workplace digital application that can make communication, networking efficient at workplace
will also be discussed. The validity and reliability of information sources for digital information
will be accessed. The intellectual property risks in relation to digital technology will also be
discussed in this report. The acts or regulation that can be applied to them will be listed in this
report. A researching about cloud-computing will be conducted in this report.

a)General trends and innovations in digital technology applicable to workplaces
 The use of cloud computing at workplace has brought a major change in the business.
Before in the workplace work were done manually such as keeping record of clients and
employees. This manual process consumers a lot of time at workplace and is also costly.
But due to use of cloud computing at workplace a lot of time is a saved and is also cost-
effective. The advantages of cloud-computing for a business are numerous. It has solved
lot of problems of a business. The employees that are working in the company no longer
have to worry about their records and data as it is stored safely on the cloud. The
updation to the records is also done automatically. The organisation need to not to take a
lot of updation. By storing data on cloud the records and data are also secured as in the
manual process if there is any fire or accident there are chances that record will be lost
and also the will be no backup for that. But cloud computing have solved this issue as
data on cloud is not lots and backup is possible. So, in a way lot of solution of problems
that is there in a business can be solved by using this technology (Sanaei and Buyya,
2014.).

 With use of mobile technology the communication of business have being improved. By
using this they can connect to employees and customers both at office and vacation. To
the business situations it gives individuals the ability to communicate instantly and
respond rapidly. Today laptops have become powerful computing device through which
access to all the application that are need to run a business can be provided. With use of
cellphone at a business the employees and business are not just connected with each
during office hours but also after office hours as well (Tabassum and Mathew, 2014.).
 For the gaming filed VR that is virtual reality have opened new doors. The success of
pokemon go has brought this change. Due to this more and more gaming workplace is
making use of VR in their games. It gives a customer a good experiences towards that
game. A unique experience and memorable interaction is provided by using this new
technology. The strategies in the gamification workforce are made in order to implement
this new technology in their games.
 By may companies such as eBay and pay-pal PAI is used for bring digital transformation.
With use of API at workplace it is possible to manage work. The work flow can be
updated by agencies in order to make them faster and more productive. The more flexible
information can be accessed through API.
 With use of technology such as social media sites such as Facebok, twitter and blogs the
company can analyse the needs and preference of customers. By using these site the
company can predict the requirement of customers and according to needs of them it will
develop their products and service. This new technology have helped the company to
finds out whether the customer are happy with their products and services as they can get
feedback from customers regarding it. Based on these changes can be done by
companies. So, in a way this social media sites have brought a change in the way
companies do their business. They are more aware about likes and dislikes of customer
and this have benefited their business and sales (Arbace and Scopigno, 2013)..

1. Workplace communication
In order to make communication at workplace efficient and effective the video
conferencing and websites can be used. With use of video conferencing two parties that is sitting
in two different countries can communicate with each other face to face. The competitive

advantage for a business can be gained through video conferencing. With this technology the
company can also connect with customers that are not in the same country .The workplace can
make use of mobile technology such as laptops and mobile phone at their workplace. The use of
mobile phone will help to interconnect with number of people. Not only the business can be done
form office but flexibility will be given to employees as sitting at home also they can connect
with their customer and also with the employees (Tao and Li, 2014.). This use of communication
will provide flexibility to employees at workplace and more satisfaction among customers will
be there due to this communication. Interacting with people will also help the workforce and
employees to learn new ideas and grab knowledge of business from other people who are doing
business in different countries. So ,in this way both the communication tools such as video
conferencing and mobile technology can help the company to make its communication effective.
With this communication with customer through text messages and mobile application have been
possible through e-marketing.
2. Technology that can be used in any area of workplace
The project management software such wrike can be used in business. The business are
using project management tools as with manual process there is a risk of human error or
mistakes. Suppose by using pen or paper or spreadsheet to create a record .The risk is high of
errors in these records as wrong entry can be done. So, in order to have ales amount of mistakes
and error .The workforce are using project management tools. In the project management tools
the workforce refer to cloud services .They want to store the records of data and other
information on a cloud. The workforce can use cloud for storing their records and documents .
Another technology that can be used is wrike (Miller and Loorbach, 2014) .It is a primary
software product. Around minimalist multi-pane UI wrike is designed. In a company it will
mange both project and team collaboration. The resources, assignments that are connected with
projects will be managed by using project management feature of wrike. In this feature of wrike
interactive Gantt chart, a workload view etc are added to store data of project. In order to have
conversation with team and involve them in decision-making feature of collaboration is used. On
the phone also wrike is available as native Android and iOS apps. So, both this technology that is
wrike and cloud computing technology can be used.

website such as Facebook. The workplace will create webpage of their company. In this page
all the information regarding company will be there. The people can get information about
company products and services from this page. By this more number of people will come to
know about the company. They can also click on like button if they found page attractive and
good. In this way the company customer base of workplace will increase through these sites.
Similarly, in twitter people can follow if they are happy with company page and by this company
will come to know about people who ave shown interest in their company. From a viewpoint of
business both social site and blogs have expanded the network of company. The base of
customers has increase due to which the productivity and performance of various workplace
have shown growth in recent years. The websites of the company can also be used as an effective
mode of communication. With these websites the company is trying to promote its products and
services that is offered by company (Arbace and Scopigno, 2013).. A lot of time and money is
invested by companies in order to make these websites attractive for customers. In this all details
about company, its business, its location, product specification all are given. Any customers who
are interested can contact on the number that is given in the website. In order to do marketing of
their product companies make use of social websites where the company promote its products
(Kivunja, 2014).
c) Accessing digital information is to review the validity and reliability of information sources
The five questions that can be raised in order to review the validity and reliability of
information sources can be as follows-:
 Is the information that is provided is specific and correct?
 Is the sources of information that is give is reliable?
 Does the site that is used to refer digital information is authentic?
 Is all the information regarding topic digital information is covered?
 Whether in writing there is a use of inflation or biased language?

innovation is obtained. This search land will make educate the users about strategies that are
used by workplace in order to bring a change in the business. The new and innovative

are used different- different digital technology in order to develop innovative and creative
products and also some companies are using digital marketing such as social media sites, blogs,
etc. With this the company can do online advertising,digital marketing.
Social Media Today – On social media every information about the latest trends in technology is
there. By using social media such as Facebook, twitter, blogs, e-mails one can learn about
technology that can be used for bringing a digital evolution. For professional social media today
is an internet and online community. The information about tools, platforms that is used by
companies in order to provide a digital solution to workplace can be get form social media today.

property in relation to digital technology (Kivunja, 2014).There is a risk that primate information
of workplace can be accessed by some other companies. This is not good for reputation of
company. The competitors and rivals can use it for wrong purposes and this can be a loss for the
company. There are a chance that design and plan of company can also be used by another
company due to this company will not bale to achieve this objective that it has planned. In order
to make use intellectual property the company can use intellectual protection such as copyrights,
patents, trademarks and trade secrets

The privacy act 1988 can be applied this Act will handle the personal information about
individuals. All information regarding customers and employees at workplace will be protected
under this law. The archives act 1980 this act will oversee record-keeping practices in the
government of Australia and all the requirement of commonwealth record will be fulfilled
through this act. The freedom of information act 1982 will give to government to across
documents and other exempt documents. The crimes act 1914 this act protects the official

information and penalties are there for unauthorised disclosure. In the section 39 it has been
mentioned that is its offence to leak or destroy the private information of the company. In the
evidence act 1995 all documents that are in the form of electronic need to be presented in federal
courts as evidence (Han, Cline and Golparvar-Fard, 2015).

The privacy act 1988 and crimes act 1914 can be used to regulate intellectual property
and digital content

The purpose of this act is to secure the personal information about individuals .Only the
authentic users have the access to provide that information regarding any employees or
customers. The purpose of crimes act 1914 is that if any illegal or offence will be there related to
information by nay person then strict action will be taken against then. The penalties are there for
unauthorized disclosure of information.
f) Key elements a workplace that need to be considered while evaluating digital technology
 The company or workforce need to have a online presence .There can be a website of the
company or a twitter or face book account that the workforce want to create. The
company wants to crate this accounts in order to sale and promote its idea of business
among people. This sites will help the organisation to expand their business on a broader
platform. With this they can interact with more number of people across globe. If the
customers are happy with their product and services they can give their feedback and
comments. This will help them to in many ways.
 The company can use digital technology in order to do digital marketing of there
products. With digital marketing they can launch new products or promote the exiting
products in the market. They can show advertisements of this product in the
televisions .The company can also make use of vine as it will create a

is internet connection. The backup is also available and there is no risk of security also as only
authentic users can only access the cloud. And no extra cost for hardware and software for cloud
is needed.
The storage capability of cloud is much more than it can stores all information and record
of the company in one cloud. It is also a good source of energy efficiency as it stores all
information on one cloud. In providing their services most cloud providers are extremely
reliable. With this the workers can do their work anywhere with help of smart phones or tablets.
With this shared storage the different groups can meet virtually and share information easily. It is
a cost-effective process there is no need to buy an equipment or hardware. The gain over
competition that is faced in business can be reduce by using cloud storage at workplace. The
grater security is proved by cloud computing .The unlimited capabilities of storage are provided

models the public models can be classified into software as a service. In this the application are
hosted by third party and are made available to clients over internet. The second is platform as a
service. In this the hardware and tools of software is delivered by third-party provider. These
tools are required for development of application .The third one is infrastructure as a service. In
this the virtual computing resources are offered by third party provider. Over the internet Vms
and storage is provided (Arbace and Scopigno, 2013). Most of public cloud providers offers
pay-per-usage structure of pricing so for most business it is an attractive and flexible financial
model.
Setting up an account in public cloud
1. The NAS drive need to be taken out of the box and router or network node need to be
attached to it.
2. Power it up.
3. On the computer open the included software.
4. The installed software need to run first.
5. In order to pick up an IP address open the program and follow the prompts. The name
should be given in the drive.
