Title: To investigate the impact of digital technologies on the sleeplessness and other associated
health problems.
CHAPTER-1 INTRODUCTION
Computing research is exploring different projects that are associated with technology
and among them are projects that investigate the impact of technologies on human health,
particularly on sleeplessness (Judge, 2019). The primary aim of the computing research
association is to govern the projects to strengthen the research. The advanced education in the
field of computing is related to this, as its mission is to execute the research on computing in a
wider way (Skuda, et. al., 2018). The professional development of computing research also
depends on testimonies to justify the computing research projects (Kumar, et. al., 2019). The
sleep of technology users can be studied through experiments or questionnaires.
The use of digital technology has been associated with depression, obesity attention,
behavior, physical inactivity and other sleep problem. The overuse of digital technology among
people because they can use their time inefficiently. It is mainly concerned about the cognitive as
well as emotional affects on the human being. The digital technologies have been inspired the
children’s to uses in their routine activities (Johnson, 2019). In this report, few tasks will be
conducted in order to reach the objectives of the assignment – gaining knowledge on the relation
between technology and sleep quality. The report will describe maximum the usage of digital
technology that will change the entire physical activity of human being. In order to investigate
case study in regarding of sleepless due to maximum usage of digital technology. In another
way, it will examine excessive use of technology which takes place of night sleeplessness. In
order to consider as major problem which impacts on the sleeplessness and relates to the human
health.
Aim: To analyse the impact of digital technologies on the sleeplessness and integrated with the
health problems.

CHAPTER-2 LITERATURE REVIEW
Theme: 1 Impact on sleeplessness and associated health problems by using digital technologies.
According to Adams and Kisler (2013) people use digital technology which makes it
harder to drop off sleep and also reduce the quality of sleep. The small amount of light from
electronic devices pass through retain into different part of hypothalamus. Afterwards, it directly
impact on the areas of brain which is controlled sleep activities. It also delay to release of
sleeping inducing hormones, and melatonin. This concept attempts is to describe about the high
prevalence of insomnia and daytime sleepiness in children. Furthermore, the rate of obesity in
children has increased in last 20 years. For healthy development of children, it will require the
daily physical activities, social interaction that require Sometimes, excessive use of technology is
linked to lifetime cardiovascular risk, obesity and also establish the relationships. Furthermore,
the excessive use of social media at the time of pre-school period in which increases the
sleeplessness.
Arora, Broglia and Taheri (2014) argue that use of technology has been rapidly changed
the physical activities but it’s being invests as whether use of excessive technology. In particular,
it takes place during night sleep. Within 4-11 of age group, found that 40% of people had
decreased low play activities. In order to effect on the human body. Author have found that
digital technology affects on the behavioural and physiological condition of people whereas they
cannot properly manage their daily activities on regular basis. Many parents have been having
issues with overactive and excited young children, especially preschool children. Quite several
distinguished professionals are of the opinion that this may be due to the impact of digital
technology, perhaps the irradiation from the screens of these devices.
Theme: 2 The complexity of usage of digital technology.
According to Fuller, Lehman and Novick (2017) the digital technology has increased the
complication while increasing the chronic condition’s and shortage of doctors. In another way,
digital technology has consider as potential use to enhance the capabilities and abilities. It has
undertaken to report the detailed approach to investigate the utility in day to day activities.
Furthermore, it directly effect on human physical and psychological health. In order to increase
the complexities such as obesity, sleeplessness, chronic diseases, heart rate increases. These type
of complication have identified when excessive usage of digital technology.
6
Document Page
Gradisar and et al (2013) said that behavioural change have implicated as major factor which
responsible for weight gain. It has been occurred in the particular in adolescence who will use
excessive use of mobile phone, social network. In this way, it is reduced the physical activities
corresponding to increase their sedentary activities. On the other hand, Young generations
always attract towards the digital technology. As report by Min and et.al. (2014) 50% of
children’s have used own cell phone. Parent’s revealed that reason for using mobile phone due to
purpose of security. In order to maintain the contact with families. However, various type of
guardian give their kind to stay in touch. Afterwards, it has identified that effect computerized
life which will increase more complexity in term of psychological. In order to increase stress,
nervousness that will be less close and personal connection.
Theme: 3 measure the effects which digital technology causes on human sleep quality.
As per Skuda and et.al. (2018) Many people keeping use computer, television, mobile
phone during early age that associated with less sleep. A lot of children’s who make an excessive
use of digital technology such as social media. In this way, it has increased the risk of experience
in term of sleep disturbance, sleep quality, duration. Furthermore, Poor sleep quality among
adolescent that associated with extreme use of mobile phone which directly affects on
individuals. Johnson, C. (2019) Said that Sleep is consider as persistent physiological and
essential practices in every human being, irrespective of profession, gender. If incomplete sleep
quality directly affects on the mental health condition of people so that it require for taking a
good sleep. In order to measure the affects of poor sleep quality by using digital technologies.
According to (Wood, ReaPlitnick and Figueiro (2013) A large number of people use mobile
phone on regular basis, evolving as an imperative issue which affects on the sleeping magnitude.
The use of large digital technologies such as social media, television of larger quantities that
have been linked to the hindering sleep. As possible to directly harmful for entire health
condition. in this way, it has discovered the that digital technologies was quite risky and also
reason behind poor sleep quality.

CHAPTER-5 CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION
From above analysis, it has identified that people use many devices phones, tablets,
computers have developed applications that allow us to muffle or mute various sounds or
vibrations. To improve our night sleep, it is best to use the Night Mode feature. It changes the
screen of the device used with mostly red light instead of blue. In this way, it directly affects on
the children’s health condition in both psychological as well as physical. In additional, many
parents have been faced issues with overactive and excited young children, especially preschool
children. Quite several distinguished professionals are of the opinion that this may be due to the
impact of digital technology, perhaps the irradiation from the screens of these devices.
Furthermore, it also concluded that overuse of digital technology cause people because they can
use their time inefficiently. In order to affects on both cognitive as well as emotional that these
technologies have on development among children’s.
It has recommended that reduce the use of digital technology whereas parents need to
encourage young children participate in physical activities. Therefore, they can improve own
abilities and capabilities.
