The study revolves around a discussion about my personal experiences with the digital
technology including the multi faceted affect of the digital world over my life.

1. With the current evolution that occurred during the mid nineties, computer technology saw
itself jumping to incredible heights changing our lives drastically.
2. However, I was affected because I could not afford the new digital gadgets coming to the
market at that time.
3. Later in life, the computer lab generation was modified, where I could find time to go in the
lab and access the internet smoothly.
4. Gradually, digital and virtual communication platforms replaced the need for social
interactions around us.
5. Despite all these, as one of the respondents in the film states; “I think technology is beautiful
… because we can communicate on a completely different level than we have been unable to do

6. The use of computers in general alongside social media has impacted us much to a point
where we feel that we cannot live without them.

Irrefutably, the evolvement of computer technology has created an impact on the society and on
me simultaneously.
2. The bridge words that are used to connect the paragraphs and sentences in an essay are called
transitions. However, it is more likely to be used for highlighting different ideas and to separate
them. The purpose of using transition words in essay writing is very much needed. This is
because there can be manifold aspects that revolve around the thesis statement. In order to write
a rich essay, the writer needs to alarm the readers that they are going to read a different angle of
the story by adding transitions. Besides, this is also very important to bring variety and to break
the monotony of the whole piece. Many readers feel tired while reading a long piece of writing
that is well written and shows rich thoughts. The reason behind this is the absence of transition
that creates confusion in the minds of the readers. On the other hand, paragraph and sentence
transitions show how organized the ideas and the thoughts are. Without the presence of them, it
seems that the writer presented a series of thoughts having no coherence. So, it can be said that
transition in an essay helps the readers see the clear connection between each and every
successive ideas or thoughts. Thus, the readers stay prepared for the next set of ideas through the
use of transition in an essay. So, the point of transition is useful both for the writers and the
readers because they blur the inner confusion and bring out the desired essay frame.
In this essay, transitions have been employed to bridge both sentences and paragraphs. For
example, words like ‘thus’ has been used in the introductory paragraph to bridge two successive
sentences. On the other hand, words like ‘however’, ‘later in life’, ‘despite’ and ‘another affect’

have been used in order to bridge two paragraphs in the essay. Finally, the word ‘irrefutably’ has
been used for separating the concluding paragraphs from the rest of the paragraphs.
3. A proper essay needs to follow certain rules regarding its structure and form that cannot be
ignored by the writers. However, still some variations can be used in an essay in order to give an
added flavor to the essay. This variation can be employed without interrupting the essential
formal elements of an essay such as the introduction, conclusion and so on. According to
‘Keeping your writing engaging’, there can be seven areas for employing variations that include
the tone, different evidence types, transitory words, vocabulary, and types of sentences, length of
the sentences and the structures of the sentences.
Among the above mentioned options of variation, the first variation that has been used here is the
type of the sentences. Here, the sentences are more in the first person because the essay is about
my personal experiences. However, there are some sentences that are not in the first person
because those sentences either present opinions of some scholar or an objective statement. On
the other hand, transitory words like ‘however’, ‘later in life’ have been used in order to break
the monotony of the writing piece. Apart from that, the tone here is less formal so that the
readers can be attached with some relevant stories picked from my own experiences.
4. As per my personal experiences with the digital world, I can definitely say that the effect of
this world has been both positive and negative at the same time in my life. My life along with the
society around me has been greatly altered after the evolution of the digital technology. Now,
when I look back I feel like the digital technology and I both grew together. From the wired
telephones to the video calls, the journey of the digital technology has seen a lot and so have I.
each effect of it can be explained from both positive and negative aspects. For example when I

mentioned that virtual interaction platforms reduced the need for real world communication, it is
also true that people still find a way to connect to each other especially when they are far apart.
Moreover, being a mid nineties kid, I belong to a generation that might have seen the highest
numbers of transitions in the context of the digital technology. This has enabled me to be
prepared for any new social changes beforehand. However, I am still learning and struggling to
cope with the changes that this digital world is continuing to bring in my life and in the world
around me. For example, the days are gone when children used to gather around to play games in
the era of online games. Overall, my experience with the digital space has been outstanding and I
believe that I am going to experience more in the future.
