1. Background Literature
The word HBIM refers to the Heritage Building Information Modelling. This simply
indicates a new manner of modelling existing buildings by considering a BIM procedure that will
form intelligent models managing and containing information. These models are related to
components of project and involve their geometric and determining information. It also includes
all the physical properties that best define them. The first attempts to produce a BIM model of
existing building are connected to monumental or historical kinds of buildings (Aheleroff and et.
al., 2021). Hence, HBIM is a process that is applied to existing monuments or buildings whether
they be simple dwellings of the 1950 or any monuments. It does not describe a new kind of
designing but it clearly defines a manner of working together with the use of applications. A
digital twin is defined as a virtual representation of a physical process or product used to
determine and predict the physical counterpart's performance characteristics (Redelinghuys
Basson and Kruger, 2020). Digital twin in engineering, architecture and construction is a up-to-
date replica of physical assets, dynamic whether it is a campus, a city or a building that brings
together construction, design and real time operational information. It stimulates, predicts and
informs decisions.

The main purpose of conducting the present investigation is to carry out information
about the heritage business information building and digital twin modelling in the area of
architecture. The chosen topic the is digital twin and HBIM is very significant in the present time
because in this modern time everything operates with the assistance of internet and other
artificial intelligence (Gehrmann and Gunnarsson, 2019). The current proposed research aims at
clearly defining the difference between HBIM and digital twin technology so that reader does not
get confused with these two terms. The major reason of carrying out data about digital twins is
that they provide multi-dimensional views of the designed asset and the way it perform,
involving utilisation of space, using patterns and occupant behaviour. The is selected because it
clearly explains the different benefits of HBIM and digital twins. HBIM is the process through
which existing building are modelled and digital twin helps in integrating system and sensor of

research because it provides different types of methodologies to collect, interpret and analyse
information. The current research is based upon information on HBIM and digital twins so
investigator has focused on using primary and secondary data collection. Primary data collection
is used to take out first hand information directly from the source. For this survey would be
conducted to gather data from contractors of United Kingdom. Secondary data collection is used
to gather second-hand that is already gathered (Huang, Fang and Chen, 2017). For this secondary
sources such as books, journals, magazines, publications, articles etc. are considered. The
researcher has also focused on conducting quantitative research that focuses on collection of
statistical and numerical information. It is believed that numerical information is more valid,
scientific and appropriate in attaining defined aim and objectives. Deductive approach and
positivism philosophy is used to analyse gathered numerical information in systematic and

twin. The scope of the whole report is it depends upon quantitative information because it has
collected numerical information. The scope of the report is wider because it is based upon
numerical facts and figures that are essential for gathering valid, accurate and reliable of

Limitations
Limitations are defined as some of the barriers that have been faced by researcher. In the
present research, investigator has one of major limitations of managing time. Investigator has
faced issue in dividing time among different activities of the research. Another limitation include
increase in cost while conducting research because in this primary as well secondary sources are
involved.
