DIGITAL TWINS
A digital twin is virtual technology that is blueprint of living or non living thing. It
includes process, people, system and devices, etc. which is used for different purpose. (El
Saddik, 2018)
Emergence of DT- there are four stages in this which is as follows :

CONT..
1946- ENIAC- it was first electronic
computer that was used for digital
purpose. This has first invention in
digital era (Canedo, 2016).
1981- PC- IBM developed first
personal computer. It emerged as
managing software and systems as DT.

CONT..
1991- WWW- world wide web was developed and used as information system. here, data
was transferred via use of protocols such as HTTP.
2000’s New IT- This resulted in emerging of new and advance technology. It entirely
revolutionized global world (Tao and Qi, 019). the data and info was shared in wide areas
and with high speed and efficiency.

Internet of Things as the DT enabler
IoT has resulted in enabling DT. This is
because it has enabled in using new
technologies and software applications.
also, connectivity of network is increasing
in IoT (Debroy and Babu, 2017).
Many new technologies emerged such as
IOT, cloud computing, DT, etc. here, goal
is to industry ecology digitalisation.
There are basically three technology and
enablers in IOT which are

5G – It is next gen DT integrated with IoT. it is
wireless communication network and uses IoT
sensors with higher radio speeds but from the
ability to exchange data wirelessly (Bruynseels
and van den Hoven, 2018) .
Machine taking- The rise of MTC in
heterogeneous devices collected together to
deliver new services.

New visible light solutions (Lifi)- LiFi can be used for industrial and commercial settings
in which IoT devices direct illumination path.
Software platforms – In IoT it requires to maintain an effective software application to
allow in smooth processing and sharing of data (Batty, 2018).
