DIKW Framework
The main stages of DIKW framework comprises of:
• Data
• Information
• Knowledge
• Wisdom

Data collection
As per the DIKW framework, the data present the raw and
unsystematic facts, figures and other measurements thus,
data is collection of facts in an unorganized manner in
form of numbers and characteristics. The data collection
method that are applied for study includes:
• Qualitative research method
• Primary as well secondary source of information

Information
With respect to the DIKW model, information
comprises of a set of useful and organised form
of data that is structured and provide perception
about the collected raw facts. Use of following
frequency table has been made to organize the
collected data in a structured and improved
manner.

Knowledge
As DIKW pyramid represents the relationship
between its four components. So the third component
is Knowledge. It is mainly concern with how the
information is derived from the data collected and is
relevant to the goals of an individual. It simply
involves the connection of the information which is
connected to the other pieces so that the information
can add more value and meaning.

Wisdom
It is the top most steps in the DIKW pyramid which
is concerned with application of the knowledge in the
action. It is mainly discerning the right from the
wrong and good from the bad. it simply shows that
the individual has now the ability to decision making
beyond any possibility. It simply shows that the
knowledge is exhibited and used so that better
understanding is gained of any information collected.

Comparison of research with the material presented in
Week 7 called Data collected by students in January
2020 about grit
As per the data collected of 172 students in
January 2020 regarding the academic level of the
student and grit, it shows the highest academic
level of the student as well as their grit score.

Conclusion
On the basis of current study, it is observed that DIKW is a vital framework
that supports better collection of data along with setting improved relation in
information, Knowledge and Wisdom. Further, it has been analysed that Data
collection is a systematic process of gathering observations or measurements
for which various method are being applied by researcher and manager.
