This report explores the application of the DIKW model in the context of digital skills and research methods. It begins by defining the DIKW model and its stages: data collection, information, knowledge, and wisdom. The research focuses on analyzing Angela Duckworth's work in relation to the CRAAP test and improving students' digital skills. The study employs a positivism philosophy and a deductive approach, utilizing quantitative data collected through surveys from 45 participants. The questionnaire covers topics such as understanding the importance of digital skills, academic qualifications, grit scores, and methods for improving digital skills in the workplace. The findings are presented through frequency distributions and interpreted to derive insights into the participants' understanding and perceptions of digital skills, grit, and the relevance of Angela Duckworth's work. The report concludes by emphasizing the importance of these skills and suggests ways to further develop them.

INTRODUCTION
The DIKW model and framework is used for better knowledge management and data value
extraction. The DIKW model or DIKW pyramid is an often used method, with roots in
knowledge management, to explain the ways we move from data (the D) to information (I),
knowledge (K) and wisdom (W) with a component of actions and decisions. The main stges and
steps of DIKW model consists of:
 Data collection
 Information
 Knowledge
 Wisdom
Thus, DIKW model sets a proper relationship between the data, information, knowledge and
wisdom to support improved result and decision making during an investigation. The current
research work and study is based on analysing the role of the research work of Angela
Duckworth in effectively passing the CRAAP test. Further, current study also emphasis on
improve the student’s digital skills within the workplace along with develop awareness of the
importance of effective analysis of information and its translation into knowledge. The main
objective of current research work is listed as below:

 To effectively review about the phenomena of the grit along with determining its
importance for students.
 To investigate about the role of Angela Duckworth work in passing the CRAAP test
together with having improved skills and competency level.
 To evaluate about the ways to effectively develop and improve the student’s digital skills
at workplace.

Research questions
 What is meant by phenomena of the grit along with determining its importance for
students?
 What vital role is being played by the Angela Duckworth work in passing the CRAAP
test together with having improved skills and competency level?
 Which can be the ways to effectively develop and improve the student’s digital skills at
workplace.
Data collection
Data simply comprises of set of facts and figures which are nit structured and meaningful
that are gathered as facts and stats to perform some analysis. Thus, data its own is raw and does
not provide any specific set of information until someone work on it. Various form of method are

there for collection of data that is being applied by an investigator for gathering facts. The type
of data that has been used for current study along with the method and approaches are provided
as below:
Research Philosophy- Positivism philosophy
Research approach- deductive approach
Research method/ type of data- quantitative data
Research strategy- Survey
Sources of data collection- application of both primary and secondary sources of information
An implication can be made out that with respect to current study, collection of data has
been made through applying positivism philosophy which supports a more practical and
systematic form of data collection along with deductive approach that supports effective testing
and scanning of information. Further, there are two common form or type of data and research
method which are discussed as below:
Quantitative data Qualitative data
This form of data provides information about
the quantitates that can be easily measured.

The qualitative form of data cannot be
measured and presented in form of theoretical
and detailed word that is difficult to measure

With respect to current study use of quantitative nature of research data has been made as it
is easy to collect and present. Further, with respect to current study both primary as well as
secondary sources of information are applied to ensure that the adequate information is available
for analysis of information ad generation of the knowledge and wisdom. The primary data and
sources of information that has been collected by the researcher itself thus are more authentic
and reliable. On the other hand, the secondary source of information comprises of the data
collected by someone else that is easy to collect and less time consuming. Use of secondary
source of information is effective as it provides base and framework for investigation where as
primary data is vital to support the authenticity and reliability of facts. Further, application of the
survey strategy has been made within current study which ensure better collection of information
with the help of questionnaire. A small size of 45 participants has been selected from classmates
and other students for undertaking of current study. Following questionnaire has been used for
collecting information that is circulated to participants through making use of social media and
web link.

An information has been derived from current study that no participant tend to have 1
average level of grit score based on your passion and confidence level while 22 respondents
