Assessment Part 2: Reflective Report on Key Skills
Development
My learning experience of this module can be described or reflected upon by
applying model for reflection that is Kolb’s learning style. It is also commonly known with other
name that is experiential learning cycle. It is an effective model through which my whole
learning journey can be covered. There are four parts into which the whole cycle is divided. The
first one is known as concrete experience (Idris, Din and Tajuddin, 2020). In this learners like me
encounter any new event, in this case the concrete experience is the happening of this learning
module. There are various things that I got the opportunity to learn in this entire module. The
learnt that SWOT analysis is a framework that businesses all around the world are using in
order to identify their strengths and weaknesses that are a part of internal business. Further I
learned that the framework also highlights the opportunities and threats that exists in the
external business environment. The strengths of the company help to capture the opportunities
that exists in the market. The researching skills got introduced to me with this learnings of the
activity. Effective research skills are highly essential for the success of the company. I got to
learn how researching is done by these businesses both with the lectures in attended and
through some individual learning. the strategic implication of the SWOT framework in making
the strategies for the company’s growth and success, helped me in enhancing the problem
solving skills that I already possessed.
active experimentation.
I also learned about the resources in this module. There are a varied range of
resources that are involved in proper functioning of a business. Resources are those elements
of a business adding to whose values ensures the growth and good performance of the
company. I gained my knowledge regarding three resources that are financial, physical and
human resources. A company faces problem in arranging these resources and keeping them in
place for the continuing operations of business (Fergusson, van der Laan and Baker, 2019). How
compatibility and competencies play a vital role in the allocation of such valuable resources and
adding value to the company is also learned. The role of teamwork is highly important here.
During the group assignments allocated team work was also practiced by me and my mates to

get the things synchronised and in control for effective completion of the tasks. There were
many problems that we faced in having the benefits of good team work. The creation of
conflicts and overlapping of activities and contradicts in opinions of various members formed
the major cause of issues faced by us.
Further in the module I learned different models that are used in management. The
foundation of business communication is the building of a winning team that can achieve the
objectives of the company. Every group cannot be termed as team. Team is group of such
peoples that possess skills which complements to each other’s skills and make it possible to
achieve every goal of the company. The Tuckman theory for team development is consisting of
five stages. The first stage is of forming at this the team member are introduced with each
other and the tasks that are allotted to them only. According to the model the first step is
executed in accordance to the skills, interests and backgrounds of the members. Goals, timeline
rules and regulations are made clear to everyone. Then comes the stage of storming, which
begins with the vanishing excitement and grace of the members. The need of this stage is a
good leader to guide better (Tuckman’s Theory: Five Stages of Team Development, 2022).
Norming, is where the conflicts or discontentment settle down and an energy of realization of
common goals flows. Performing stage beings with the realization of strengths by each member
of team and working dedicatedly for the purpose. With the end of the project successfully the
last step that is adjourning initiates.
In this learning journey my communication skills improved to a great extent. I can
know make use of body language which is an element of effective listening and communicating
one on one with others. In addition of this the skills to identify the sources at provides quality
information is learnt my me. I learnt to find information on Marketline and Statista. Numeracy
skills enhanced. Belbin theory a team role theory that is used to consider the behaviours and
understanding of team members in assignment of team roles to them.
