3. Conclusion
The commencement of NDIS ACT started on 1st July, 2014 for the people of age up to
65 (Reddihough et al., 2016). This is to bring people in the scheme to establish the staffs,
services and operations that are ready to be forwarded sustainably and effectively.
Persons having permanent disabilities faces difficulties in everyday life in doing their
activities can have access on this NDIS scheme (Stephens, Cullen & Massey, 2016). A
person availing the scheme must meet the requirements of disability, residence requirements
and the age limit that is given by the scheme. NDIA is likely to contact the existing clients
itself regarding transitioning into Scheme. Util the eligible people does not start their plan
with NDIS; they will continue to get state-based services and existing national based services.
Assessment of week 7:
1. Meseret Kumulchew, a supervisor employee of Starbucks, Clapham in South-West
London has accurately misread and documented the fridge and water temperature in
her duty time (Weaver, 2017). She was suffering from dyslexia and she had informed
that to her company beforehand. She was accused by Starbucks that she had falsified
the documents of the company willingly and as a result her responsibilities were
reduced and she was asked to retrain. The person was suffering from dyslexia but the
company was not agreeing to it.
2. Starbucks reported a case against Meseret Kumulchew accusing her as a fraud against
the company. After all investigation, it was found that she was really suffering from
dyslexia, which falls under Disability Act and the company has wrongly accused her
for her disability. The company has to give compensation to Miss Kumulchew for
harassing her. The hearing date on how much the company had to pay to the victim
will be announced in next few weeks.

3. The employee had nothing much to do with the surroundings. She was accused as a
fraud by the company and to come out from that she had to fight against the situation.
The employer might have observed the situation before reporting a case against the
company’s supervisor. The company was expected to show a little understanding
regarding the equality act and kept Kumulchew under tremendous pressure about
frauding the company.
4. According to me, the company had illegally accused Kumulchew for her disability.
The company showed no understanding with her employee suffering from dyslexia.
The company accused her by saying her fraud, willingly falsifying the documentation
of the company.
Assessment of week 8:
1. Case 1: Ms Whitehead’s younger brother Charlie was suffering from bronchial
malaciaa and laryngeal tracheal disorder. This is a rare condition that changes his
airways and after diagnosis, it was considered as serious combined immune
deficiency and also considered as Kanner’s autism (Fisher et al., 2015). Charlie had to
be given constant oxygen and fed through a tube until November. His immune system
was not in a condition to work more and he had to take plasma therapy in an interval
of four weeks.
Case 2: Chris Turnbull, 27 was suffering from Hypotonia which is also known as
baby syndrome. His disability was muscle disease (Arabena, Panozzo & Ritte, 2015).
He was born with dead muscles tissue and the doctor gave him a time period of a
week to be alive. But after his survival for months and years, the doctors too stopped
guessing about his life span. He sits on an electric wheel chair to go around and needs
helps at the time of taking shower and dressing. He is even unable to blink his eyes

and at night he needs to put tape on his eyes in order to shut them. In 2011, Chris
represented Australia in Powerchair Football World Cup in Paris and now he studies
in University of Western Sydney availing forensic science as his subject.
2. The reports that are used by media that are related to disable people give them an
inspiration about their lives. It also indicates the social changes that occur in the
society. The use of positive images and reports mainly focuses on the people instead
of focusing just on their disabilities. This helps to develop self image as well as the
public image of the disabled people.
Assessment of week 9:
Support Needs of Carers- The support needs of carers are to support the family
members of the victims who are suffer from some disabilities (Bailey & Grenyer, 2013).
There is an assessment tool for this support known as Carers Support Need Assesemnt Tool
(CSNAT). It is a tool that is evidence based that promotes the support of the family members
and carers of the disable person. This CSNAT has 14 domains. The carers may seek their
support from the available 14 domains accordingly which they need.
Own opinion- According to me, the main support given to the person having
disabilities are the carers and family members. Support needs of carers are those who provide
substantial mental support o the friends and family members of the mentally or physically
disabled persons (Ewing & Grande, 2013). The assessment of the carers gives the person,
who cares for the victims, provides an area to talk care that he provides and the support that
he gives to the person.
For making Support Carer better- To make the support carers better the following
points should be taken care of-
Should have a discussion in detail regarding the matters.

If the carers want a private discussion, assessment should be provided to them
accordingly.
Offers an innovation and flexibility to the carers of the patients.
The carers should have an opportunity to give feedback regarding the
assessment.
Assessment of week 10:
1. Every Moment Have Potential gives an introduction about Person Centred Active
Support. This a way that helps enables, not regarding their intellectual level or
disability that is physical, all to build choice and take part in activities that are
meaningful and activities that are include social relationships. Using this Person
Centred Active Support, a better quality of life of the people is supported who are
in need. It helps the workers to be skilled and helps to supports the way of
working.
There are five modules present in Every Moment have Potential that helps the
workers to learn about the supportive measures. It also contains the outcomes that
will come from this Online Learning Resource, the qualifications that are
supported by Online Learning Resource. How to use this online learning resource
are described in the consecutive five models that are present in the write up.
2. The main purpose of Person Centered Active support is to involve the user
services in all the areas of their own lives. This makes the life of individual happy
after fulfillment of their dreams. The purpose of person centered processes that
uses the services are to be in place first. Planning should be comprehensive and
collaborative. Secondly, the staffs with who they are to work are to model the
staffs directly and also direct them in working practices. This enables to support

identify requirements of staff training.
