Background
The primary purpose of this research proposal is to discuss about the gender
inequality in Atlas Hotels, which is a hospitality organization that operates 48 properties in
the overall market place of the United Kingdom. The topic will focus on the issues and
challenges that may arise out of this gender inequality in the workplace in all these hotel
properties and what should be the measures that could be taken to resolve them. Only
questionnaire survey will be used as the method of collecting primary data from all these
hotel properties to find out the issues, so that necessary actions could be designed to
overcome the raised issues by the management of Atlas Hotels.
Research Aim
As discussed already, the aim of this research proposal will be to identify the
disadvantages of inequality of gender in the organization of Atlas Hotels, which are
delivering quality services through their 48 properties in the region of the United Kingdom.
The company started their journey in the year 1996 (User 2020). As the management have to
manage a healthy amount of hotel properties, they need to deal with a diversified work
culture through their properties. The issues need to be identified where the management along
with the employees are facing issues and hampering the quality of the services that are
usually provided to their guests and customers and due to which the hospitality company is
widely known as.

Gender Inequality
The term gender inequality focuses on the inequality between women and men and
helps to understand that gender impacts the overall living experience of an individual. These
differences are raised from distinctions in psychology, biology and cultural norms. Gender
inequality also includes differences between a woman and a man in the field of education,
health, political and economic. Thus, in one word, it can be said that the term gender
inequality is the receipt of unequal treatment based only on gender (Ponthieux and Meurs
2015).
Disadvantages faced due to Gender Inequality
One of the main disadvantages that may arise out of gender inequality in Atlas Hotels
is the mental health of the employees, who may face harassment which can lead to anxiety
and depression and lower the level of productivity of that particular employee. Another
disadvantage that is faced by the employees is stress, which is increased due to unfair
treatment on the affected employees (Garawi et al 2014). Level of job satisfaction can also be

decreased, which may hamper the productivity of that employee and that of the organization

Scope and Limitations
Scope
The scope of doing this research will be to find out the disadvantages of inequality in
gender in the organization of Atlas Hotels, which are delivering quality services through their
48 properties in the overall market place of the United Kingdom.
Limitations
One of the major limitations of doing this research is avoidance of filling up the
questionnaire correctly or ethically by the employees who are selected as sample of this
research. It will, thus become difficult to collect the data, which will hamper the process of
overall data collection and adversely affect the research procedure (Chan, Fung and Chien
2013).
Resources and Cost Considerations
Resources like paper along with time and money need to be incurred to carry on this
research on the employees of the organization of Atlas Hotels.
